amazing that people aren't upset that quaker oats needed to be pressured into changing an image that is an obvious racial stereotype.

well to be fair, white people haven't gone through hundreds of years of slavery and oppression, but yeah it is getting pretty silly, especially if this change is being pushed solely by "offended" white people lol...

I think it was 2004 where there was a poll about the redskins nickname and the results showed that white people were much more offended by it than indigenoous people

pat. let's be real here. white people did go through hundred of years of slavery. how the (frank) do you things like the pyramids, etc and all the great buildings of the roman empire were built?
the timing makes it look worse but it should have been changed years ago

exactly, same thing sorta happened with Trudeau's Black Face Gate, where white people were freaking out (and using this in their political agenda) and black people were like "yeah, it wasn't nice, but meh"

well concerning those pyramids, there's debate surrounding the ethnicity of Egyptians back then, and many historians argue you can't apply the same "black/white" concept

I had a class last year that was mostly white and a few black people. It would be all the whites who seemed to be more hurt by the racism in the world than the black people. It was a surreal class
