That's the thing. Allen wouldn't have the luxury of taking naps behind an All star defense like he did in St. Louis. Any goalie coming here will be facing more rubber than Jenna Jameson.

That's who I'd target. I'd give up a 3rd. Allen is basically a rental next season. 1 year left on his deal @5.5 mil. Canucks will want too much for Demko. I don't want anymore garbage albatross contracts. Abdelkader and Nielsen are still here. Give me Jake Allen for a year to split games with Bernier and then re-evaluate next year. Blues need to clear cap space so they can re-sign Pietrangelo so I don't think it'll cost much to get him.

My ideal off season for Stevie would be...

1. Draft Drysdale at #4
2. Demote Abdelkader and Nielsen to Grand Rapids
3. Trade for a legit 2C like Tyler Johnson
4. Trade for or sign a goalie to split time with Bernier like Jake Allen
5. Sign a cheap UFA defenseman. A stop gap guy with short term. Like Nemeth last summer.

Surprised you guys don't see what Veleno or a healthy Rasmussen could do at 2C. And what side dman are you guys looking at. I want the Sabres to go after DeMelo, could be a cheaper option for you guys to, his defensive numbers are pretty good.

Svechnikov was never highly rated. Unless you consider being drafted 19th overall as highly rated. Picked ahead of Sebastian Aho! Oops!

But he's certainly been injury prone. I still think he'll be traded but it's "$hit or get off the pot" for Svech this season. I know he's a great person yadda yadda yadda but you can't keep a player just because everybody likes him.

Won't be the Sabres, well hopefully, we don't need to add a Dman, but some of are trade chips are our plethora of them. I think Montour and either Risto or Miller get moved, we just need a bridge until some of the younger D are ready.

That was the Ken Holland regime. But the shine on Svech wore off a long time ago. His latest injury bought him time. Even before the injury he was 50/50 to make the Red Wings. That says alot to me given how awful this team is. He was drafted 5 years ago and hasn't done anything.
