To a certain extent. I still think it breeds speculation which the NHL usually wants to prevent.
- Marwood

As Dbot, said I think that speculation will likely occur. I'm sure they would prefer to stifle the speculation as well as protect the players but can't see how it could occur even if they canceled the season.

Censoring info is a slippery slope. Keeping things hidden or secret during this pandemic doesn't sit well with me regardless whether it's the NHL or the WHO.

It's cheaper and quicker than buying the gear and putting in your time. But it's not the same as eating a couple hour old fish that you caught. I caught 4 this weekend. 2 hatchery Coho I gave one to a friend and we ate the other. A wild that I had to release, and a small Spring that was released as well. All from shore. A good weekend at my fish farm.

I luv salmon but it’s when I’m in the mood for it. Growing up we had a lot of salmon. Baked, canned pate etc. Moms side were commercial salmon fishers. BBQ season is when i want it most. Fast & easy to do.

I see that last pair of legs and it seems like they're blocking him somewhat.

Just (frank)ing give it some gas once you're on and you're pointed in the right directions.

I guess i thinking about injuries in general, beyond COVID19.
It's weird that we insist on knowing the personal reasons a player can't play on a given day.

I haven't eaten salmon since I moved here in 2015. My daughter's birthday was about 3 weeks after the day we arrived. We went down to Fundy (hopewell rocks) for the day then took her out to a seafood restaurant. The server mentioned a salmon special, and the 7 year old asked if it was wild.

The waitress was stunned and said you'll have a hard time finding wild salmon here. She was right, so we just don't eat it.

I'm excited for hockey but can't say I know one way or another if it's the right thing to reopen. It would be nice to know what the criteria is to call this thingy off but otherwise I'm having a hard time being critical of how they've handled this so far.

The real test will be once they start having cases occur during actual games.

- belcherbd

I think you'll at a minimum need to see players hospitalized before they call it off. I could be wrong but money talks.

I miss BC sockeye.
NZ Salmon tastes different, not as good.
Plenty of other fresh fish i prefer down here, Snapper, Tarakihi, King, or kahawai smoked.

Opposed to violating players rights to privacy?
- belcherbd

Privacy? Is there any such thing in the world of Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc. where people volunteer every intimate detail about their lives without much concern.

Ok fine, I’ll concede to your player privacy point but it’s awful convenient.

Here we eat mostly haddock, cod, sole or shellfish. Plenty of people eat salmon but not us. I guess the girls are getting old enough to come fishing with me so maybe we'll add some trout to the menu.

Some pretty crazy poop going on between the NFL and NFLPA over covid concerns, how to deal with loss of revenue etc.

https://www.nfl.com/news/...nfl-s-covid-19-guidelines

It almost makes the NHL and NHLPA seem like besties.

I'll take a slab of Coho or Chinook over Sockeye any day.

I seen Russel Wilsons tweet today and basically it was the same as another guys from yesterday. It basically asked WTF is going on? He said players had no guidelines or assurance of a safe environment . He stated his concern for his pregnant wife and did not sound happy.

I listened to Tim and Sid the other day and they said NFL is the only professional sports league without the natural disaster clause in it's CBA , meaning they are on the hook to pay salaries regardless.

It looks like they are going to a season in even if they don't have a proper plan.

After a bit of surfing I came to find out it was from Byron Jones, Dolphins CB. Was a player rep last year with Dallas.

He suggested the message " We want to play, let's just make it safe. " #Wewanttoplay is the message they're all stating. I can certainly see the concerns, camp usually has 90+ players, plus coaches, plus training staff. Gathering from all parts of the country, many if not most in covid hotspots.

Dolphins might suck on the field but they certainly lead the league in social issues.

Black GM (Chris Grier, brother of Mike) black coach, Kenny Stills. Even during lean years, there's always reasons to be proud of the team you cheer for.

I wonder if" We want to play "is the legal language so the NFL cant try to use refusal to play. Getting Bonkers.

I think NFL is just trying to have a season like nothing has happened. Fans in the stadium collect all the money they can?

Good point.

I think they generally want to play. I mean after awhile everyone wants to get back to work, or if you're retired then some kind of activity. For my dad, it's golf.

I mean most of these guys are 22-35 and competitive. However, many of them also have some pretty sweet pads they can ride out the storm in. As competitors, they want to play. Fringe players and reserves almost need to play. That I think that is what the NFL is banking on.

I agree with your comment from before that leagues will continue to play until someone is in intensive care.

You have educated that child well beyond her years. I'd rather eat Lefty's hot dogs than farmed salmon.

Sad but true. So far the only time the modern NHL has cancelled a season was a dispute over money. But they'll seek out every avenue to get playing during a global pandemic.
