Grandma had no issues with her lungs at 75. In her 80's once she had alzheimers she used to ask if she smoked. We'd take her out for one or two a day. Crazy that it never got her for how much she smoked. - golfingsince
Yeah, it’s weird. My wife’s grandmother never smoked a day in her life but her husband did. She died of lung cancer. Go figure. |

2nd hand smoke?
I mean I know he had 1st and 2nd hand. I moved my godparents, both smokers. When you took the pictures off the wall it was a completely different colour.
Then there's genetics. Grandma's sister lived into her 100's whereas grandma didn't quite make 90 I don't think. |

Yup, that’s what we think (second hand).
I agree with you on genetics, I think it has a lot to do with it. Dad smoked for 70 years straight. Diagnosed with cancer at 82 then quit. Died at 85.
I have a buddy who’s a long time smoker and the walls of his apartment are exactly like you described above. Move a picture and you can see the colour difference. Take a damp paper towel to the TV and what comes off the screen is unbelievable. |

Of course they do. From what I know it was the federal government that denied MLB, don't know either way how the ON government felt about it.
I think BC pulled the plug on the NHL before the league did, couldn't have enough control was my understanding.
I mean we are government, all it really takes is public pressure. - golfingsince
More important not to ramrod sports like they do in the US.
The cavalier bs approach to the pandemic is pathetic. Govt’s federal & state have shown a very poor understanding to the crisis. The simple fact travel to Europe & Canada is closed to them says it all. |

Many forms of lung cancer & other cancers. Pumping gas, silica from concrete, heavy metals, asbestos brakes, etc. |

Yeah, gross habit. Too bad it was glorified for so long. Despite what people pay for cigarettes, they're unlikely to cover their medical bills. How sad is that? |

Paying $45 a carton. Still not justifiable.
In my 60yrs to date I’ve been a very cheap burden on medicare. 4 temporary prescriptions & just had broken ribs. All I cost is my annual check up. |

It was a guess, so I looked it up.
Turns out I was off.
“Last year, the average price of a packet of 25 cigarettes was $37.48, according to Statistics NZ”
About $33 Cdn. |

Holy (frank). What’s the point in selling them? Just ban them and get it over with. |

At that price you can offer them weed instead. !/4 pack in they're out for the day. After a couple of weeks of that they'll have forgotten they smoked. |

“NHL players need 3 negative tests spaced 48 hours apart in the 7 days prior to travel to Canada. Any positive tests after Wed or Thurs this week and they won’t hit that mark. We could be talking about players left behind until cleared. Crucial week for the leagues testing.“
Coming to Canada soon! |
