That will be good news if he is ready. We waited a long time. He was always good when he had the puck but was an adventure when he didn't have it. I seriously hope he turns out that would be a big plus seeing I wasn't sure he would. |

I all fairness most D take longer to develop, then add all the injuries. Anything at this stage is a bonus.

Broberg will be part of Oilers main group in the Hub. Good for him he is ahead of schedule.

Ken Holland on Philip Broberg: He was supposed to go home to Sweden this weekend, in time for his club's training camp.
Plans have changed, with Mike Green opting out, and Broberg's stellar play.
"I have informed Skelleftea that we will take him into the hub with us." |

Anyone consider what a late season start does for the Hoglander situation? I see him signing in Europe in the early fall rather than waiting until December to see if he makes the Canucks or getting sent to Utica when the AHL season is questionable to operate with no fans and the pandemic and all.
I'll predict he's not in camp. |

LOL that's been a running theme on players who don't have instant success. But with the Canucks historical drafting record of producing duds from high draft picks it is understandable.
I think we are on the cusp of having a deep forward group with 6 good defenders. Plus Stars in all 4 positions.
The patient plan:
Miller Petey BB
Podz BO TT
Hogs Gaudette JV
Lind Focht ZacMac
QH Woo
Rathbone Tryamkin
OJ Rafferty
Demko
DiPietro

Yeah I think the Canucks will have a excellent core. I'm skeptical about some of those players making the team, where you have them in the line up and whether they'll still be Canuck property in 2 years.
Demko will be traded if Marky gets resigned and he will. I'm certain of that. Podz will most likely be a bottom sixer. Tryamkin Signed in Russia and will be a UFA soon after that contract expires so I think he'll be gone. Woo is iffy to be top 4 I think and possibly falling back to the point of being expendable with how our D is shaping up. TT is not affordable in my opinion. I'm 50/50 or less on him getting resigned.

Not expecting that plan to unfold as posted. But disagree on Podz as bottom 6 he's got the right attitude and skill. As for Tryamkin his KHL deal over April 30 2021 and he's Canuck property for another year after that. Canucks could trade Demko but they are better off keeping him to take over as #1 a couple years down the line. Woo who knows to early to tell. But sure their plan is for him to take over for Tanev. Then shotgun QH as he's got the ability to keep up and can dish it out too. |

Why do you think Pod is bottom 6? From everything I've read, he's a solid top 6 winger to be. |

There is a transfer agreement with SHL so he can come over whenever the Canucks want him. So he could leave his Swedish team to come to camp and try out.
If there is no AHL starting up at time of NHL training camp you might be right he stays in Sweden until Canucks need him or work out roster changes with moving out contracts. (LE #1 candidate)
