Oh poop, did not know that shows you how much I’ve paid attention during the lead up to this thingy.
So it’s a one and done? - bloatedmosquito
Ya, pretty sure each of the top teams play each other once, then get seeded 1-4 based on wins/losses. After the "play-in" series are done, they get matched up/reseeded based on regular season standings against where those top 4 teams finished in their mini season thing.
Going to be doing time at GF Strong? - bloatedmosquito
Nope, they want you home as quickly as possible. They say it's a 4-5 hour surgery and then 3-5 days in hospital. Fortunately, there's a number of new physiotherapists opened clinics here in Cumberland in the past few years. A good friend of ours was brutally hit by a speeding car while cycling and airlifted to Vancouver last summer, recommended a local fellow who's clinic is four blocks from our house. Times like this when living in a small community is awesome. I'm looking at year or longer to bounce back. I've been dealing with a fair bit of heath adversity for a number of years, so we are well versed in challenges. Having a good support network is imperative to a healthy & successful recovery. I'm counting on The Murder Hornets.

At least that's how I think it goes. - NewYorkNuck
Thanks for the education. I’ve been sleep walking through this.

Correct. Wasn’t paying attention. Just saw the matchup on the TV listings and thought “that might be worth watching even though it’s beautiful out”.
Now that hockey’s back (which I thought wouldn’t happen) I guess I should start paying attention to how this thing is being rolled out. - bloatedmosquito
I'll watch some tonight once the youngest is in bed. I think we may drive down to Alma and pick up some lobster. I guess there's a great white hanging out there so maybe we'll get lucky and see it.
I had it on all day yesterday but on mute with tunes cranked. Was inside & outside through the day. 27C, so perfect afternoon beer weather. Had the ribs slow cooking in the oven while back and forth from the woodpile.
A little gardening and mow the lawn before the Columbus-Toronto game (GO Blue Jackets!!). Mrs. Marwood has loaded the beer drawer with Pabst Blue Ribbon, a simple beer. Filling the bowl of my new water bong with either Scout Master or Girl Guide Cookies. It's been a good BC Day long weekend!
Also, found out my back surgery is next week, Aug. 12. Scared & excited. - Marwood
Hope you have a speedy recovery. I wouldn't be nervous, you're too stubborn to come out of this anything but stronger.

Isn’t it awesome! For decades the east coast wildlife was decimated due to over fishing and commercialization of resources. Now that the industry has been reduced considerably you’re seeing that food web return; from fish to seals to top predators. I think warming water also has something to do with it by expanding the sharks northern territory. Even Nfld are getting sightings.
Here’s a awesome site if you want to see shark distribution on east coast Canada.

I don't want to be added to the list of victims who've been chased away when I don't post for a few days. Hopefully the Canucks are still playing when I'm in hospital. I'll get my wife to smuggle in a few beers.

Getting back home is important. Rehabbing in hospital sucks. GF Strong does great work but the people I know who’ve spent time in their rehab centre speaks of it as pure torture Don’t get me wrong, the patients are happy with the results, it’s just the therapists drive you hard.
Preds and Yotes playoff would be nice to see the desperation to win. Bruins and Flyers playing too nice with each other it seems they don't care about placing.
Carol is probably excited for Canucks game and would love to see live posts from what we can't see on camera. Any inside updates on the starting line up?
I wonder what the potential is for altercations between players inside the bubble? Like, would a jets player beat the crap out of Matthew if he saw him in the hall?

I doubt it. I'm sure there would be a lot of yapping, but no one would toss fists. They're professionals, and something like that would be a HUGE black eye for the league, their team, and they'd clearly get a big suspension... and could face criminal charges if they were pressed/if they just jumped him?
