No argument here, and i'm not trashing the small skill guys.

However, if you expect two diminutive players to carry you through a Stanley Cup run then at least wait until they're fully grown men. At least that's what i've learned through the years.

Other than Motte on the 4th line they play soft & not much else other than eating up a few minutes. Double shift the top 9 more & blender it up a bit to go with who is playing best for the 3rd.

You'd also think JV would pull his head out of his ass and earn his ice time.

Look, I agree JV is far more talented than Sutter at this point. However, JV also has a long history ( since drafted ) of simply not seeming to give a poop. That's not what I want on the ice in the playoffs.

By no means am I a huge TG fan but you need to light a fire under that kid for him to be effective. He's incapable of doing it on his own.

As a coach i'd want to see what he brings to practice following a loss that he was scratched for.

If he shows nothing, scratch him again. If he shows fire, tell him that's the only way he stays in the lineup. After all, the kid is looking for a contract.
