But remember, we don't have a cap problem, so it's fine. - NorthNuck
We'll be adding Myers to that scrap heap in no time.
I like the drafting, or much of it. Then again, for the most part it's been near the top of each round.
There's not much else I like though. Just my opinion. I think JB's problem is that he continuously thinks the team is closer than it is. I'm not sure how to describe it except for poor timing.

My opinion is that when JB sees an opportunity he likes to pull the trigger, regardless of the potential result.
No matter how close your team is to a cup, Myers at 6X5 is too much.
That said, I like a lot of what he's done, despite the missteps

My take is too many bottom 6 vet contracts & how he gets out from under idk. Still the top 6 has to be more of a force. The team got a taste of what’s needed in game 1 & should adjust. Crisper & faster play & I’d bang their D into submission.

I think he does as well, and he's honestly just trying to make the team better. It's hard to blame him for having that mindset or trying to accomplish it.
I just don't agree with putting the best team possible on the ice right now ( in Benning's vision) with less regard for the future.

Myers was more than fine imo.
Problem as I see it is the bottom 6. Need more outta them other than Motte. Roussel was engaged. Ferland came to war. They came to play the rest did not. Top 6 wasn’t on their game but I expect they will adjust. Minny came to war & we gotta do more of the same. PO’s needs warriors.
I like the messaging from the players & coach after the game. Green really standing by his players and acknowledging they played well despite a disappointing result.
I think Petey did everything right apart from not hitting the scoresheet.

Realistically we are not PO ready but still can learn a ton from it. TT & Pearson gotta be better. Bo has to be the bull he is.

Petey came to play & battle every shift for every inch. He needs more support.

But these guys aren't your future. I wouldn't commit long term money to TT. Pearson was a nice save after a brutal Guddy trade. No reason to assume he has a future here neither. Six years in, time for the youth aside from a few gems to really start taking over the lineup.

I just thought he looked like a fawn out there too often. Bad luck on the broken stick or else he likely hits the scoresheet.

He's going to take the same punishment come playoff time that the Sedins got their entire career. How he responds will have a big impact on the teams future.

I believe that individually he's much more dangerous than either Sedin was. He has more desire to fight through it at this stage of his career than either twin had. He's also quite a bit smaller.
You have to give that guy players that make the opponents pay when they collapse on him. Leaving your other top young shooter off of his line is a mistake. Especially when you consider that the 2nd line as constructed is ineffective.
