Yeah, I think if they can manage to keep everyone in the bubble they will get this done. I had my doubts, but I’m convinced they will award the cup this year. We’ll se how the financials work next year if we aren’t back to fans in buildings though. - 1970vintage
Its going well cause its in Canada lol. Only Torana may screw it up cause NHL should have taken BC protocols as good business.
But I think the line draws on fans in buildings next season. Probably should continue in bubble cities. They can add Vancouver for the extra capacity and keep the TV money going.
Until there is vaccine traveling around cities like boringball and having fans in stands is a Covid nightmare waiting to spread.

It's okay, Edmonton still doesn't know how to defend - NewYorkNuck
Wow just got back in saw the score and highlights. Smith wasn't even to blame for the first 3/4 goals. If EDM comes out flat like that again they are finished...

it's posts like this that are designed to divide people into camps and then instigate a fight.
hockey has just started back up. let's try to keep it to hockey talk and see how that goes. - RealityChecker
Highly doubt that's Booner's intention at this point. He's just speaking some truths that some can't accept as fact. But agree Hockey talk is good lets go Nucks!!!!

I completely missed the drama and have no intention of reading back.

Its probably all personal life do and don'ts shares with promises of hockey talk. Sadly a lot of posters that come here to post about the Canucks are just giving up cause it seldom happens.
On that note what's your guess on JV drawing into the line up? We already have camp darling ZacMac regulated to black aces. Need to have skill with will, do we see OJ in too?
Must suck to hear Chelsea Dagger 6 times in your own building... 🤣 - carsonagenic
It was so strange, even as an impartial observer. But there was no doubt that Toews had his team ready to play. And maybe Kubalik deserved that Calder nomination after all, with his 5-point game!
I will say, though, that Chelsea Dagger is a much better actual song than the Oilers' goal song — Hell Yeah, by Rev Theory.
I believe the league said the reason why they decided to use both teams' goal songs, PP songs etc was simply so that there would be more high-energy moments scattered through the games. It's a tweak that makes some sense to help compensate for the lack of fans.
During the exhibition games, I heard some crowd noise in the building, especially on power plays. Today, it was much less noticeable. Did it jump out on TV?

I've bet from the start that JV will draw in for the 'thingy' despite the bad press and ZacMac will be on the outside looking in due to lack of experience (injuries notwithstanding).

Hey Carol thanks for the inside report from the rink. It makes sense for the viewers cause when their team scores they will cheer and yell wherever they are so why not add that to the TV sound.
Yeah there was crowd noise in the background and on shots and saves that went both ways just for the viewer to get enthused from what they see from their team. The announcers doing a good job it almost looks and sounds normal on TV. I was expecting more new camera angles but maybe its being worked in.

Yeah JV should be in but his slow starts keeps him back. His speed and power just make the bottom six dangerous. Plus his shot on 2nd PP is needed weapon to draw away attention from BB.
I liked ZacMac over Motte/Sutter/LE but guess you're right NHL experience will be Green's go to. ZacMac didn't do much against the Jets though. His highlight was getting pasted on the wall with no later push back hit. JV would have least hit someone later if that happened to him but he's tough to hit with his speed.

That may be true, too. The on-high moving camera, I think they call it the JitaCam, was really noticeable to me during the exhibition games but I don't really recall seeing it today. Maybe I'm just used to it now, not sure.
I'm going back tonight for Wpg/Cgy, so I will check then.
Let me know if any of you have other questions about what's happening inside the arena!

How did the Hawks look live were the Oil off or the Hawks just that good. Could they be the dark horse with a Crawford resurgence? They are a rested experienced Cup core talent with injection of talented youth like Dach and Kubalik. Just the right mix for a run?

What did Crawford do to warrant that comment? The Oil struggle to work hard.

I thought the Hawks looked really good. Toews had that fire in his belly, for sure, and Kubalik was fantastic, especially on the PP.
I also thought Tippett could have done more to reverse the momentum earlier. I thought he should have at least called time out when Chicago went up 3-1. Smith didn't look good, but he didn't get much help either.
People here are pumped up for hockey, even if they can't get into the rink. It was cool to see the outdoor spaces with big TVs set up at the bars near the arena, and all the jerseyed-up fans getting ready to have a few cold ones and watch their team at 1:00 on a long weekend Saturday afternoon. I hope the Oilers give 'em more to cheer for on Monday.
I didn’t see much leadership on the Oilers part. Also not a fan of Tippet & his boring system that doesn't suit the Oilers roster. That same roster is soft & poorly built. Here in Van our team D is my biggest concern.
