Put Holl on the 3rd pairing with Sandin, then go get two top-4 guys.

Then keep JT and move Matthews.
Are there any promising young center prospects in your pipeline? If there are +Kerfoot(who is a decent middle 6 Center) then it really makes it quite easy to fill in the C position without needing both AM and JT. - SimpleJack
Matthews is the franchise player. Not moving him. If it were me, I'd be moving Nylander + in a package. He was worse than a no-show tonight in an elimination game - his play was terrible. |

Jones is in the conversation as the best defenceman alive. Tavares is not bringing us Seth Jones. Anyway, there is no way Dubas trades Tavares. Just not going to happen at this point. - fifty__missions
In the salary cap world who in their right mind would want a JT contract? Also it would take three JT to get Jones, lol It aint happening. Jones and Werenski agrualbly the best 1-2 D in the league.

Nylander+Liljegren for Ekblad
Kapanen+Dermott for Pesce
Rielly-Pesce
Muzzin-Ekblad
If I keep saying it, it’ll happen, right? |

Dumba isn't the answer. We need D who can play D. Trading Nylander can probably get you close to landing Brodin, Pesce, Manson, Ekholm etc. Those guys are all on teams who could use a young 30 goal scorer. |

They gotta find a good young up and comer.. you’re not going to draft one deep in the draft, and free agents cost too much and are risky. I can’t really think of any rn. |

Most would argue that if Kadri didn’t get suspended those times, we probably beat Boston both years, and most definitely last year.
Same could be said for Muzzin. I knew we’re in tough when he went down. Our D is so trash that without him I kinda always knew we’re (frank)ed. - bartsch
You have to realize injuries are part of the game and should not be used as excuses. So you score zeroe goals and Muzzin is the reason you lost, give me a break. I do agree that Muzzin was a force until he went down and it did hurt the Leafs chances. One other thing people are overlooking is John Tortorello, the guy is the best coach in the nhl imo. He did not used to be but he has learned from his mistakes earlier and is an amazing teacher and motivator. |

Florida wants to shed salary, and they’re losing Hoffman, Dadonov to FA. They at least get Liljegren back. It’s unlikely, but who saw the Trocheck for no one trade coming?
Pesce is possible. Canes have the D depth to trade him, and have wanted Kapanen for a while.
I just want to have a big, hard (to play against) D. |

I think you are over rating the spineless Leafs mentioned in this trade. Who want softies like Nylander, especially for players like Ekblad.
I do not care for Dumba that much, he has a boatload of talent but does not know how to put it together. |

It’s true. But it’s also just hard to admit that such a vastly superior set of players (on paper) keep failing in spectacular fashion. Especially to “lesser” teams such as Columbus. Also hurts that it’s Columbus, like who the (frank) cares about hockey there?
At least Boston has fans and are a good team. - bartsch
You nailed it the fans should play instead. |
