He has a full career ahead of him.

Not sure. Is changing everything up last minute a Calder Cup thing? - aminnes
It's just puzzling. Did Keefe share that gameplan with Dubas? Was he alright with it?
TBH, I think I would have laughed had I seen that live.

Leafs are no joke dude! When they plug Lafreniere into this group next year, they will average 5 or 6 goals a game. An offense like we have never seen before. Will make the Oilers of the 80's look like trash.
Buckle up....going to be EXPLOSIVE!!!!! |

Not at all, the Leafs imo were hands down the better team all series Jackets goaltending plus some puck luck is why they won. The Leafs gave me no doubt at all on how strong they were. Mark my words the Leafs are going to be competitive for a long time. |

If Leafs decide to trade Andersen, I'd like them to trade for Lankinen (Chicago) and have Woll-Campbell-Lankinen fight for that #1 spot.
I like Lankinen and think he could be a legit NHL starter - and he's still young. Worries are injuries, but have to take a gamble on that.
Maybe Chicago is interested in a Andersen for Lankinen + Zach Smith trade; helps Leafs with the #3C spot - and more importantly, gets them an additional 2mln in capspace (and Smith is injured; depending on the injury, might even create more capspace). |

Then keep JT and move Matthews.
Are there any promising young center prospects in your pipeline? If there are +Kerfoot(who is a decent middle 6 Center) then it really makes it quite easy to fill in the C position without needing both AM and JT. - SimpleJack

Dubas priority list for Leafs organization:
- Making sure he's seen as 'politically correct'
- Communicating the 'new style of hockey'
- Having 'hero trips' with the team
- Stacking up those 4th/5th/6th round draft picks
- Making sure the players get to play their own music during practices
- Getting along with the young guys
- AHL championships
- ABOVE ALL: avoid all risk - in order to extent his tenure as the Leafs GM as long as possible.

Don't hold your breath by the way for Dubas willing to make any changes.
This is from an article when Dubas was hired as assistant GM:
If nothing else, Kyle Dubas is going to change the way that the Maple Leafs talk about themselves.
The 28-year-old, hired as the Maple Leafs’ newest assistant general manager on Tuesday, trades in questioning assumptions and heavy analysis. The old hockey fallback phrases of “compete level” and “winning battles” are not in Dubas’s vocabulary.
After his press conference, Dubas hit on a wide range of issues, from his philosophy to the state of the team. Here are some of the highlights:
On culture change: “The term that people use is culture change. I think it’s just a buzzword people throw out. When a team doesn’t do well, people will say the culture has to change. When a team wins, they’ll say they have a great culture. People, they can’t really say what that truly means, other than one team’s winning and one team’s losing.” |

Dumba isn't the answer. We need D who can play D. Trading Nylander can probably get you close to landing Brodin, Pesce, Manson, Ekholm etc. Those guys are all on teams who could use a young 30 goal scorer. - celinedionpha9
Close? Really? If you're trading nylander and can't get someone like that, and you have to add then you move on. |

I don’t feel trading Anderson would solve the Leafs problems. I saw a team that lacked some solid Defensive minded defenders, guyS who do the small things but have maximum effectiveness. (Kulack) for instance |

What your point he's right.
What is culture of a team? If the leafs were winning, you wouldn't be talking about culture.

yes, clearly this team is built the right way, and the players gave it their 100%.
Leafs fans shouldn't complain, because it was just a case of bad luck (and refs!) that Leafs now lost another playoffs series in 4 years.
Cue the 'this team is still very young - have to have some patience!' comments.
The fact that you don't understand what a building a proper team culture constitutes of, doesn't mean it doesn't exist... |

Leafs Fans: Nylander is a floater that doesn't play defense, is soft, plays on the edges and cares more about his hair than winning.
Also Leafs Fans: Lets trade Nylander for Seth Jones.

I don’t understand why so many leafs fans are freaking out. Am I crazy or did they not look freakishly amazing at times all series long? now your getting a top 15 pick in the draft to add to this monster team. Believe me I understand it sucks to lose I’ll be feeling what you guys are a week from now difference is habs have some serious problems in regards to the future of our team. Keep your heads up your future is bright. |
