Good point! The further we go, the less painful that #1 becomes. Regardless, JGP is one of my favorites now. He’s a great team guy. Like his personality and attitude too.

I love Pager, you guys got a good one there. Contract is still a bit much IMO, but he’s a solid player.

Pelech and Mayfield have been unreal for the isles. How far they’ve both come. Great to see. Isles are super strong on the wall.....what a difference a coach and GM makes. Wow

Possibly a bit overpay but he fits our system perfectly and solidifies our middle. His intangibles are undervalued imo. FO’s, PK, PP, great locker room guy, etc. If we get to the promise land in the next few years he’ll be worth every penny. Modern day Butch Goring.

Varly was today’s unsung hero. As Trotz said, “your goalie is your eraser. Sometimes as a coach or a team your goalie can erase all your mistakes.” He was definitely that today. Especially in OT.

The caps scared me too Schwein, but look where we are. If/when we beat the caps, the next opponent will be a challenge. Not a weak team in the East or west imo. But I suspect most aren’t lining up to play the isles either, the way we play 5v5 in particular. If we can somehow miraculously get the PP to average goals scored we’ll be in good shape. Frankly, I didn’t expect to get this far so every game won is more experience for the youngsters. Which is progress imo.

If the Isles play Troz's discipline game they can beat anyone. Either team would be difficult. I'd rather the Canes than the Bruins.

Yep but have to go through one or the other at some point but we’ve had our issues with both of them over the years...

Prior to the playin series w Fl, I was leaning toward the odds of getting Laff w potential first pick. Now I (and I’m sure everyone else) wants to see this team win. If we can get past Caps, and wins some games in next round to me that’s a step in right direction. Experience for the young guys is priceless.

Probably, but not definitely. Because of re-seeding, the Isles might get the Flyers in the next round. The winner of the Bruins-Canes series might then lose to Tampa. Lots of possibilities.

Right now, I'm just worried about closing out the Caps series.

Agreed streaks, so who do your rather play?
Svetsnokov (sp) looks like he’s hurt. Before that I would have picked the Bruins myself but now if he can’t go, maybe it’s the Canes?

Do they reseed? I thought it’s a fixed bracket and we are playing the winner of the Bruins vs Canes series?
