Listen that happens I’ll be all for it but I think it’s a long shot honestly.
Also wonder how much the KHL will pay him to play a season or two there? If payday at the end of a great career in his home country. - nyisles7
of course it isnt likely. im a sucker for a longshot prediction

Yeah believe me I’m in no way saying this is the favorable outcome but it kind of is what it is if he wants to sign with another team. I don’t see that happening as I said in an earlier post I believe he’s pretty happy here from what I can see. If it were to happen having two first round picks for four years it would be much easier to make some trades (especially with the cap being where it is for the foreseeable future) to get us back on track much quicker. I’ll also add that I think Barzal is probably one of the most exciting players in the league to watch but I don’t believe he’s a ten million per year player. I think he can be but we’re not there yet. - Cptmjl
Yep. I love watching the kid but if a GM is going to offer him that much money and he wants to take the deal then see ya Barzal.
It's not going to happen. Fans love to talk about offer sheets but they never happen. |

im with you on this. i didn't know the comp would be 4 1st rounders. i also believe that mat will be worth north of 10 mil in a few years. just wondering what hell cost per 8 years. islanders are already becoming a desired destination and it is only going to get better. my dad (big isle fan0 is really happy wang croaked. - bossy911
Though Wang was a bad owner as far as results, the management he hired and the decade of mainly disappointments, I will always be great full that he bought the team and kept them on Long Island. If it weren’t for for him I don’t know if we would have the team here.
I’m thrilled with the current ownership and who they have placed in charge to run the team and the success the team has had but again, we may be routing for the Quebec or Kansas City Islanders right now.

ive only been a real hockey fan for 6 or 7 years. he just knew snow and wang were buddies and fans wud be stuck with snow until wang was gone. relief is probably what he felt. wang also had a spotty past and he felt thats why nassau never let him build

beau and barzal are becoming the 1-2 punch we need. isle also have a lot scoring potential spread thru the lineup. no way lou lets him walk, but i still think 1 or 2 teams will try to offer if he gets to shopping. |

Thinking of a Reirdens replacement, I hope they don’t try to get Lane Lambert from us.
That would suck but he has definitely earned a shot as head coach. |

Lane Lambert was there with Trotz and knows the players as well. Not crazy, especially if the players respected him.
As I said Gallant, Lavy, Babcock to name a few are available and I hope they take anyone but Lambert. He’s been with Trotz for 10 plus years and he’s a good one and a big part of our staff. I’m sure he’s on their list.
That said I hope they hire Cappy! |

I like how AB has stepped up his game. He is becoming a very good top 6 forward.
I think Barzal needs to simplify things more. Still think he trying to do too much.

The Habs scored a lot of goals on the Flyers in their series. One game was 5-0 if I remember correctly. The Habs weren’t exactly an offensive dynamo in the league.
In the series The Habs scores 13 goals and The Flyers scored 11 which is -2 GF vs GA which isn’t exactly a strong defensive showing. - nyisles7
10 goals games 2 & 5. Game two the flyers just pooped the bed and didn’t show up.
Game five they got sloppy.
When they needed to lock the games down the habs really weren’t doing poop. |

While Lambert is not a crazy idea for HC. I do not see it happening. I think he would have done it when Trotz left not now. |

Gonna be a good series. Islanders totally eliminated the Caps offense 5 v 5 and they will need to play the same way to beat the Flyers. |

I think Lambert was leaving with Trotz as Reirden was the chosen one. Lane was with Trotz since Nashville and I don’t see him doing that to Trotz. To much respect for each other. Lane interviewed for the Ducks job and I think decided to stay with Trotz last off season. |

yeah trotz has said as much about barzal. even benched him for part of a game in feb for holding the puck and not using his linemates. defenses were adapting to him and boxing him to the walls. he seems to have adjusted in the playoffs and isnt doing as much figure skating.
beau has been working hard since trotz sent him down last year and is becoming a top forward who also plays the system right. Pags is also looking good. i hope he gets some skill around him next year. just wish he wud sto trying to play heavy. we dont need any injuries right now.

i seem to remember trotz saying he was surprised lane didnt get the job. isle even hired his replacement. they wouldnt do that if lane didnt express the desire to take a hc job.
reiden was the chosen one. i remember caps disrespecting trotz by publicly announcing they developed reidon to be a future hc for them or someone else. disrespectful. i wonder if they were afraid of losing Tr if the retained trotz longterm?
they got what they paid for. guy was full of excuses.

Beau was sent down last year? I don’t think Trotz has ever sent him down to BP.
Last games Beau played in the AHL was when Doug Defense is optional Weight was coach of the Islanders. |

No way I let MB go. He's only going to get stronger and better. He will be Crosby in the corners strong. His entries will only get better, and he will be an elite player. Would you let that go for the draft picks ? He can teach ALL our prospects here how to develop. I think that's worth a lot...jmo |

Let me preface this by saying it’s more than likely not going to happen but what if a team offersheeted him to the tune of 11 million per for 7 years? Would you match that? |
