Montreal is playing a 1,2,2 trap which the Islanders don’t play and The Flyers won’t have as much time coming out of their zone with the Islanders forecheck.
It’s gonna be a fun series and if the Islanders play their game they can win the series as you have said.

Well, those two have been on opposite trajectories for months. Since Christmas the Caps have tanked and squandered their giant lead, whilst since November first the only team with as many points earned as Philly is Boston.

But it’s the playoffs, so who knows? Toss all that out. It’s about matchups. Let’s see how these particular ones shake out. Oh, and having a hot goalie obviously helps.

No promises on Dave Brown nor Rick Tocchet, by the way. Then again, this team isn’t built like those ones of old. There isn’t even a goon. Yeah, Niskanen just got 1 game, but that was their first offense in ages, and he’s a new Flyer. He hadn’t even had a bad rep before this. Just an unfortunate occurrence, and hopefully that’s what we’ll be steering clear of

Totally agree, this is going to be a high paced series and the key will be who plays the sounder game defensively. If The Isles can stifle the Flyers 5v5 the way they did to The Caps they should win this series.
Varly needs to be as good as he was in the Caps series as well as Hart has been very good.
It’s gonna be a fun series to watch.
