Connor is the best of the three. He is the only one that consistently goes up against other teams top lines.
And if memory serves me correctly, he had 4 primary assists, the night Laine scored 5 goals. - TheUltimateJet
He’s constantly out scored against the other teams top lines. He is also consistently the weakest part of any line he is on.
I love Connor, but he is not even close to Ehlers, and doesn’t have the same shot as Laine. He doesn’t create, he doesn’t defend, but he can finish like a motherf*cker |
|
|
|
Laine doesn’t even get opportunities, the hell are you on about. He’s got an aging Wheeler being constantly targeted on the Powerplay, and the worlds slowest set up man in Pionk.
Outside of that, he and Ehlers get identical treatment. No centre, and rare opportunities with Scheifele. - Rexypoo
Did Laine not play the majority of the season with Scheifele this year?
You might want to check out natural statrick. I think you might have player combinations confused! |

I guess his 40 assists and insane amount of takeaways mean nothing! No creative potential at all, he is the best down low player the Jets got. Quickest stick, insane speed and can creat chemistry with anyone. Not his fault he's got a horrible coach.
Laine and Ehlers are not on the penalty kill, Connor is. I guess that fact is also lost on you. |

Again. He is constantly out of position on the back check. He loses almost all of his battles along the boards. He does not produce away from Scheifele. He literally does not have chemistry with anyone but Wheeler.
Connor can be a VERY effective player, but putting him against top competition with two guys who also cannot defend, and with Scheifele as the only play driver now that Wheels’ wheels have left him, is a recipe for disaster.
Connor-Copp-Wheeler in a 2nd line role would actually be dominant. Because Copp can defend, and keep the puck moving, and Wheeler is great at starting the breakout.
As for the PK comment... lol. Our PK is terrible, and Connor is one of the worst penalty killers in the NHL. Remember, we also used Eakin, Sbisa, Bitetto, Pionk, Myers, Stuart, etc. Etc. Etc. on the PK ON PURPOSE. Playing on the PK doesn’t mean you’re any good, especially under Maurice. |

Laine should be with Scheifele 100% of the time.
If we get Cirelli or Danault, it should be Copp-Scheifele-Laine until someone hits their decline years |

Don't think so, Eichel is an elite 1C. |

1C is the toughest position to fill, there's no way Eichel could be had for much less then what I suggested. |

Why is it other teams can sign guys like Kiviranta from Europe or wherever but the Jets sign Letestu and Bourque?.. Lol |

Because the Jets value games played and hittiness over everything |

The Vancouver Canucks have a chance to advance to the final four tonight. On a side note, they haven’t beat the Jets in four years. This is a funny league |

The Calgary blogger wrote this about Hamonic today. I’ve been preaching to stay away!! Hope the Jets avoid, avoid, avoid!!
“His reputation far outweighs the value he actually brings to the table. He’s not going to provide much (any?) offense and his defensive game has fallen off a cliff over the last couple years. He’s routinely walked by opposing forwards with speed and his in-zone results leave a lot to be desired. “ |

Harmonic is a Maurice type of player. As long as he's got a sense of humor like Bitteto, he will be welcome in the Jets locker room. |

The fact that I announced on twitter multiple times that I was an Anthony Bitetto fan account should tell you everything you need to know about how sad this season was, and how funny he actually is |

I tend to agree, if Hamonic was 3 years younger than maybe but at 30, seemingly declining and injury prone I think it's best to take a pass on Hamonic, would really like to add his veteran presence to the room but that's just not enough to justify signing him to a $4M deal, he just isn't likely to live up to that number at this point of his career.
The guy I think Chevy should be trying to acquire is Cernak from Tampa, the Lightning are in a major cap crunch and he's the least important of their three RFA'S they need to sign. He's a big and mean RHD, sounds like the perfect partner for Morrissey who's on the small side.
Cernak is an RFA with no arbitration rights and I can't see his new deal having too big of a number attached to it especially if they bridged him, don't think it'd take too much to acquire him, something like the 2nd round pick and one of the Jets many D prospects not named Heinola or Samberg would be close I'd think. |

Or you just offer sheet Cirelli, because it would be almost impossible to match, and Cernak isn’t good enough to change anything for us like Cirelli would |

-For one offersheets are very rare and Bergevin's last year for Aho was pathetic.
-Chevy isn't bold and is quite inactive, do you really think he's gonna offersheet anyone?😂
-Guys don't want to sign in Winnipeg, have you not heard that before?
-Trading for Cernak means he's a Jet, no offersheets need to be considered, he's Jets property and he's an RFA, he'd be Jet.
-The Jets need a big RHD, DeMelo is slow and small, Pionk is small, both got pushed around in the playin against Calgary and, Cernak doesn't get pushed around and Morrissey needs a bigger D partner.
-The Jets RHD prospects aren't many and they usually don't give D prospects much of a chance unless they were 1st round picks, Cernak fills a need, I don't have much hope for Gawanke or Kovacevic ever making it.
-Cernak is the least valuable of Tampa's rfa's, he's the only one they're likely to part with.
I'm realistic and Cernak is a realistic addition for the Jets to make. |

Players will sign wherever the money is. This whole idea of guys not wanting to sign in Winnipeg is very small town thinking. The day players take significantly less money to sign elsewhere will I start believing that narrative.
