If the Flames are going to bring in Ristolainen, they may as well just blow up the roster and rebuild. He is a horrific hockey player (by NHL standards, of course). Horrific.
True, true. But boy, he can play badly 23 minutes a night and he never gets hurt or tired. So there's that |

Agree, I don't like either of these options, if Tre goes this route it will be the end of his tenure here sooner than later... |

As with pretty much any Coyotes player, you'll notice OEL's peak/regression just happens to coincide with Tocchet's arrival. If AZ wants to get maximum value for their players they should give them a season under a real coach. Granted they should get a new coach no matter what else they do. |

They are bankrupt. They need to be free of that deal now.

The Coyotoes are screwed right now - new owners already looking to cut salaries, have missed payments, lost picks, shipped a bunch out for a guy they have no hope of re-signing...
Chayka screwed that organization in a big big way and then just left the poop on the floor on his way out. Didn't even have the decency to try to clean it up.
OEL's contract looks like a bit of albatross, unless they are willing to eat a bunch of that cap hit, I wouldn't touch that right now.
Tre is known as an active GM and probably calls everyone about everyone once a week. Hell, I bet he's asked the Oilers about McDavid in the past, he's just that guy. But he also tends to trade in the shadows. You don't see his deals coming, so I don't put a lot of stock in OEL coming here.
Rass... dunno that Tre goes there.
I also get a bit of sense that Tre would ask about those two with an end game of a lower priced guy coming back (or an RFA where he can then sit in the space of negotiating a good deal).
Part of me wonders if Tre gets these guys swirling and then calls Tampa about Sergachev and dangles a cheaper Valimaki as part of a bigger package. They've got next to no cap space for a while and getting a cheap guy they can plug into their top 4/6 whose next contract will be a bridge for sure might have a little appeal to them. |

$8.25 for the next 7 years will ruin the cap for the team. No thanks. I'd rather they pay Brodie $5million for 3 or 4 years. |

Yup - if you can get Arizona to absorb $2M of the cap hit (and not real life dollars), I might consider it though.

I could live with swapping sniper for a two-way player when that two-player will bring in better play making and be better at driving play for his line mates.
Could you solve the Hall third line problem by swapping him and Mangiapani so Hall can be second line but RW side? - novak14
Bringing this over from last thread.
I love Barkov I'm just saying I'm not sure it's worth the assets given.
Yeah but I wouldn't do that to Mang he could really thrive in a top-6 role (unless we're talking rolling 3 lines equally) and I'm not sold on a Hall investment. He's an exciting name but I feel like the contract will haunt Calgary.

No to both these guys !!
Move Jonny and money to 2nd line make lindholm top Center with chucky and mang then move around some pieces to fill in holes from Janko Rinaldo Stone forbert who all can go trade backland while his value is up there |

I find it funny that Friedman would bring up ristolainen as an option for us when he’s on the same telecast as burkie who has repeatedly stated that AGM chris snow talked them out of any deal for ristolainen. If you can get that man to listen to the analytics on him I would be shocked if you couldn’t convince Tre not to pull the trigger. |

I’d rather they make a play for Dumba. - K-man25
Even Dumba is meh. I'd only consider trading Gio since his value is still somewhat high.
Gio for Dumba trade I guess would be cool. |
