Not happening. - LordHumungous
He'd be great on the team, but unlikely he ends up here.

He’ll get more than 7 million per year, more like 8-9 million.

If it's 7 or 8 years he will. Thus the argument for a bridge. |

Thomas Chabot got 8 million X 8 on his second contract, there’s zero chance Quinn Hughes takes less than that imo. |

We have Hughes to build around. Don't need Dumba as well. Moving out Boeser's points/scoring for Dumba not a strong move IMO. |

I've been saying go long term in the range or 8/9 mil for both him and Petey but everyone seems to agree it'll be a bridge deal.
Amazing how Covid has changed things. Brodin is getting 6mil for 7 years as a 28 year old next year, while Spurgeon is getting 7.5 for 7 years as a 31 year old next year - NorthNuck
Minny are not a smart group. They have some very bad contracts on their books for a very long time. |

Hughes is a RFA with no arb rights and can not be offer sheeted. Chabot signed his deal before Covid was affecting the world. There was no flat cap back then.

Which makes the Brodin deal kind of surprising because it's not terrible. |

It depends on if we sign Toffoli, and how much impact Benning feels that Hogger/Podk will have. Dumba and Hughes give us a legit top pairing the likes of which we have never had. |

I will grab the popcorn and wait for all these 9 mil dollar deals to arrive as teams file for bankruptcy.

There's the talk signing TT may hinge on that. We have lots of forwards, the D needs upgrading.

IMO that won’t matter one bit, if he signs long term, it’ll be for 8-9 million for eight years. Him and Petey are two kids they’ll commit to with money and term, and for good reason. |

I can see Canucks having interest in Dumba . I don't think it is Boeser that would go.

I don’t understand the love for Dumba, he wasn’t that good against us in the play-in round, he’s not exactly big and strong and he only puts up 25-35 points with the exception of one season....WTF? |

Signing an older slower Toffoli in order to trade a younger, talented Boeser would be a backwards move. |

A backwards move is letting TT walk for nothing.

Time will tell . I look at the contracts like Point Laine Connor Nylander all in the 7 mil range and I think Petey will bridge a deal same value.
I would be shocked if Makar Hughes Heiskanen all walking out with 8-9 mil deals. The NHL doesn't have the money any more. |

We don’t have a lot of top six forwards though, which is why trading one of them for a defenseman is silly. If they feel like Hoglander can replace Boeser, ok, but that’s a huge gamble with the kid never playing pro in North America. |

Switch Rafferty for OJ
And Switch Dumba for Ristolainen. |

Ideally you want to keep them both. D still needs work.
