I advocated that they trade Rask to the Leafs for Andersen.
Maybe it should be Tuuka and DeBrusk for Anderson and Johnsson |

Anthony Travalgia: Would trading Tuukka Rask be a smart idea?
According to reports, the Bruins have initiated calls surrounding a potential trade of goalie Tuukka Rask. - Anthony Travalgia
So the window has closed?
Unless they have an excellent replacement for Rask they might as well trade Marchand as well... his prime is now, not in 3 years.

I mean, closing, but I dunno about fully closed. Everybody a year older and losing Krug is going to be tough to overcome though. |

The money they would have paid Krug will go to someone else - they can't "bank" cap room for the year after. (would be an interesting rule - have done that in keeper hockey pools up to a modest limit).

Where’s is head at these days? Does he want to continue to play hockey period. His he even looking for a change of scenery? I’m sure you can get something of value in return but what fills his spot? |

Rask has been a love/hate guy with the fan base pretty much right at 50/50. You can bet the hate 50% will be MUCH more vocal after the bubble situation...justified or not. You can't ignore the polarizing figure he is and it's only going to get worse. |

Sooner the quitter is gone works for me. Despite his success in his career he has never won me over, that is just me because I really don't like the guy. Trading him would be a good move simply because if he struggles the boo birds will be out with a vengence. Losing Krug will be a significant loss on D as nobody comes close to replacing him. Maybe Ahcan but not right away?? |

Love hate for me for sure during his time with the Bruins. I certainly respect his elite game and Bruins don't enjoy as much success without him. I was always under the assumption he couldn't win the big game, but elevated his game in 2019 playoffs and was not his fault Bruins lost to the Blues.
I am torn with his decision to leave the team during the bubble. I guess it all depends where his head is at going forward. To replace him, you will likely have to overpay for someone which gets them nowhere. If he is motivated, I say keep him for sure!
I feel there is some big changes coming, with Krug potentially hitting FA and talk of bringing in OEL. |

Horrible idea. - Mahewman
I tend to agree. Bottom line is if this happens, and they don't sign someone like Lehner, they are officially in rebuild mode. Lehner is the only one on the list that could be a Cup winning netminder. I don't see it from anyone else. |

Maybe Holtby, the Bruins always make him look like the best goalie on the planet. |

Sure, if somehow the Bruins could play themselves in the final. |

There's a couple problems with moving Rask.
1. You won't get much of a return. He has 1 year left and has left the team twice. If I' the receiving GM am I getting a world class goalie who may not stay and possibly may not be there when it matters?
2. As flaky as he is...He is the Bruins best option. Dealing him slams the window shut. He still gives the Bruins the highest odds for success. |

Lehner is a very good goalie. Also comes with some turmoil in the past, and seems to be shipped around a lot. He would be a good option, just wondering he will cost. if they could save a couple million as compared to Rask, i would be interested . |

As a Leaf Fan, I think it’s an excellent idea. |
