opinions vary

people pile on reinhart, but the fact is he produces

this team to add players that produce, not subtract

- homiedclown

Games played is not an opinion.

He's missed time with ONE significant injury. That's it.

Concerns about the contract, zone starts, PP time, etc etc etc are valid.

It would be the lean way...
- Gr8daygo

But not the serious way, and I guarantee you, the Sabres this year will be serious over lean.

I am not calling for Schmaltz, but put him on Eichel's wing and you probably see the same numbers as Rhino.
- Buff36

if I had a dollar for every time someone posted that

if this was the case, you would think olofsson would have had the same production 5 on 5 as reinhart last season

of course he didn't

jack is by far the better player, but they are good for each other and have chemistry

it's one more injury then the skunk has had

and it was significant

I mean the sabres would have been a different team if tim connolly did not have significant injuries, but he did and we sucked after briere and drury walked because of it

I don’t hate that idea. I just wish he didn’t get hurt. Tag hit the gym hard last summer and then had a good season in roch.

Got hurt here in buffalo on the 4th line his 1 game here

We never saw what he could do at the nhl level post summer beast mode

- Sabretooth9

I think tage is penciled in for the middle 6, just like casey and cozens

it's lean

I love how people fawn over the makeup of a losing team, then another losing, then another losing, then another losing, then another losing, then another losing, then another losing team. Then there is Skinner who is part of a losing, then another losing team and both played on 1st or 2nd lines. When they play on the PP, especially Reinhart who plays on the 1st line, the PP, OT and some throw up their hands and say it is not his role or his fault or, I forget all the excuses. I never understood the love for Reinhart and never will based on his numbers and the 10 game breaks he takes. Few other fan bases would protect him like this.

It would be like a team with a great QB and his supposed stud WR was meh and fans still said he was good enough.

Agreed... I was being a smart ass. The “serious” lean way would just to slot Tage in at 2rw. Which I still think they can find someone more proven than Tage.

Samson does need to be resigned. I just don’t see a scenario where it’s addition by subtraction with moving Samson. Unless you plan on moving Monte to RW? At least he’d be playing his natural side... I kid. I kid.

Have we heard anything on any of the RFAs yet?

It’s gonna be a fun week!!!

Well Olofsson played 15 games less then Rhino and Rhino only had 8 more points than Olofsson, so I think Olofsson probably would have been pretty close.

Tin man was always hurt. Missed almost an entire season, and huge parts of like 3 others.

Schmaltz is in no way shape or form as injury prone as Connolly was.

And you can say the injuries to Ti(n) contributed to something FAR WORSE: he played scared during and after.

olofsson 25 points 5 on 5 in 54 games

reinhart 38 in 69 games

one is .46 ppg

the skunk is .55 ppg

unless it's gerbe math, it's not close, one is roughly 25% better

It's worth remembering that the rookie is older the Reinhart.

That's true but facts don't matter when it comes to Reinhart only the myth of the 2nd overall pick.

Still a rookie, playing his 1st full year on line 1 and wasn't a 2nd pick in a draft.

ummmmm I did points per game 5 on 5 this season

skunks point per game played this past season was roughly 25% better then olofsson

in case you need a refresher

olofsson had 25 even strength points in 54 games which is .46 points per game played

reinhart had 38 even strength points in 69 games which is .55 points per game

eichel had 50 points in 68 games which is .73 ppg

We are comparing a 7th round pick with Sam Reinhart. Is that positive for VO or negative for Sam?

Thanks for the refresher, so basically in 69gms Olofsson would have had 31or 32pts even strength. Not bad for your 1st year on line 1 as a 7th rnd pick.
