Michael Pachla: 2020 NHL Mock Draft picks 8-10 - Michael Pachla
As for the Sabres, drafting someone who is NHL ready, or close to it, is a huge plus. The patience levels for fans, players and ownership is at a breaking point. Get guys in here that can play now. |

It probably was, but switching to a first time GM throws a big wrinkle into the mix. Huge pressure to get every move right.
We've had enough missteps the last ten years. It is time to draft some diamonds in the rough, sign some value based free agents and fleece a few GMs in some trades.
I'll put the beer down now and get back to reality. |

Most if not all of the top 8 will be contributing at the NHL level by next season at the latest, but they can make the pick while also making trades and free agent signings to improve the team for this coming season, as both can be done at the same time. |

I am of the opinion the Sabres are not close and need lots of help.
Yes they need to make some trades (Staal was a good start) and sign some free agents, but hitting on 8 with a guy who contributes immediately fills one hole. Staal takes care of another.
Some in the top 8 will be busts so I don't want to see the Sabres develop another guy for a year or two. I know it may be a short sighted approach, but it is where I am at. Start winning and having a pipeline filled with prospects becomes less important. Suddenly players want to be here and it is easier to fill out the lineup. |

I am calling an NFL conspiracy on the patriots chiefs game.
I think this was all a ploy to get the game on MNF.
I bet you Cam will Magically receive The news it was a false positive. |

On hockeybuzz? On some other interweb site? Not that I disagree or really care who they pick, just curious as to how you came to this absolute conclusion. |

A few years back the former chef at my old place busted out a fried bologna and beef tounge sandwich on a fresh, locally made hoagie bun.
Oh my was it tasty |

Y'all could very well be right. Which is fine as it pushes some prospects like Rossi down the ladder towards Buffalo |
