Yea I’d draw the line at 4 years. - Pegullaville
We need to get faster & tougher to play against
Toffoli is neither of those things
I’d pass |

At 28, I could see him getting a 6 for 6 or 6 for 7 years.
That would scare me away. - Mentalorgasm5
We already got one of those - see Kyle Okposo.
Hard pass.

The Bills of the early 90's were some of the biggest d-bags on the planet
They are treated like royalty now, mostly because they grew up after they retired
I want good hockey players (which Sam is one)
If he isn't a b-bag then it's an added bonus, just don't go around harassing women and you're fine in my book for the most part - Stripes77
Most of my fiends who play/played hockey, varying degree of success, some juniors, some nhl, are some of the biggest Richardholes i know.
Hockey players are some of the worst, mainly since they can be on their own starting at 16.

I am saying the first round goes with maybe 1 trade, and the second round picks are what get traded.
I want Rossi
We end up with Sanderson or Quinn... - Stripes77
They get Rossi
They make a deal to get a 3rd round pick back
They trade Mitts, Ryan Johnson and something else for a top 6 player
They trade next year's 1st lottery-protected, Hutton and something else as part of a trade for a goalie maybe with Columbus.

I wouldn't want him that long. He definitely is no world class skater, but I will say toffoli has a better shot than okposo ever had. |

We need good players, Toffoli would be our best all around winger.
That’s like saying we can’t upgrade the 2C position just because we have Staal.
If there is a better obtainable option that makes sense from an asset management perspective why not ? |

My thoughts of the draft tonight:
Want - To trade the pick as part of a package that lands us a younger stud player that makes us immediately better. Or, if they can't get that done, any one of the top skilled forwards in this draft that falls to 8.
What Actually Happens - Sabers take Sanderson because they love to tick off and torture their fan base whenever it is possible. No big trades are made, of course, and this team proves that it is still incapable of recognizing what it takes to win in this league. Or, if they do make a trade, if is for a guy that makes $6m+ that scores like 8 goals a year because they like his "passion" for the game. |

Disagree buffalo taking way too much salary even though i like Tuch. - ImThatGuy
Getting Flury costs a net ~$4.25m when you discount the savings from Hutton's $2.75m
Tuch costs a net of ~$3.1m
That's it.
Trade Sam for Josh Anderson + Emil Bemstrom

Difference being that Okposo was carried by Tavares but Toffoli is a play driving winger with one of the better Wins Above Replacement in the entire NHL ?
I agree with the sentiment that Toffoli is an average skater so when he does peak the decline could be quick however as a 27 year old that’s why I top out at 4 years.
