U had Barry Sanders,
Cup wins by the Wings,

That's a great question. I think Sam becomes a 70 point player. Think VO is a 60.
- TheSabresTaco

I could buy this taco.

I'm gonna go with 65 each, if healthy.

* which is definitely an intangible that sam has going for him

I mean in that case trade the 8th overall pick for Josh Anderson.

As long as we get a good player it’s ok to disregard the worth of the asset used to acquire him ?

I like Sam, he’s a top 6 forward and I’d sign him to a moderate term deal at the right price however with the 2nd OA pick you need to walk out with a “Leon Draisatil” type talent.

Say what you want but that miss has led to a domino of moves that have us sitting here at this point.

Perhaps everything happens for a reason, ultimately we ended up with Dahlin, Cozens, and are about to add another core player in less than 24 hours.

However the entire complexion of the team changes with Driaisatil.

ROR might still be here. Babcock might be behind the bench. Does Stammer possibly choose us ?

It’s impossible to know or even speculate and the argument is moot but asset management is key to any business.

We used one of the most sought after assets in the NHL and got a good forward however not market value.

This hindsight crap is exhausting. Move. On.

For a guy who makes a living on the market, how do you survive living in the past and mulling over the what ifs?

Hey, we have the tall guy and the concussed guy 😂😂
- TheSabresTaco

I still have hope for Tage, he was playing some good hockey in Rochester before his call-up, it's a shame he got hurt. I am hoping they are having serious discussions with Okposo about retirement, after that last concussion, he might get his next one brushing his teeth to vigorously.

You're simply just disappointed he's not playing up to what some high end 2OA picks play to, and ignoring and or not appreciating the player he is and what he provides. It appears that it clouds your judgement. I at least understand Boss' stance, he just doesn't like Sam the player, and that's totally fine. Gerbe just hates him because he doesn't understand actual math. But you.. I always feel like you just hate him because he's underwhelmed you given his draft position. Which is fine. But I don't think it's a good reason to hate on a player and his positive contributions.
- TheSabresTaco

No, it's more than his position that is just my rationale as to when people say I don't get why people like VO and don't like Sam. Now, when you are digging in the 7th round and you usually get crap and you get a little bit of gold that is the difference than when you are at 2nd overall and you are going through Tiffany's and you end up with glass and not a diamond.

Now, with regard to Sam I have never liked him and I still do not understand why fans like his play as a Sabre. On once in a while, off a lot and does not create his own chances. I knew he was who he was before the Sabres drafted him and he is a 2nd line player boosted by a superstar. I just hope this new contract is not untradeable as Skinner's is.

There’s a very real chance that even if it was Drai we chose, and he stuck, we’d have been in second place Eichel’s draft and had Drai and D Strome right now.. I’m just saying.

I can respect this answer. I wouldn't really be mad if he got Brayden Point's deal.

You could refer to me by name 😐

I like his shot. Sam lacks a scorers touch around the net.

Eichel needs shooters.

That's where he scores almost all of his goals.

Draisatil would have went back to the WHL.

I think we can all agree that Mojo for Staal was good asset management.

All I’m saying is I don’t blame people for wanting more from Sam with what we invested.

I don't even think he hits 60 next year. My guess would be in two. Sam... Maybe 70 next year.

Good post taco again

I'm disappointed in the Sam's position in the draft vs. Expectations. Maybe it's wrong, but it bothers me as well.
Passing on leon isnt his fault but, also is annoying

Off ice the guys a big turd.

Hopefully they do not overpay him like 36 mentioned.

I think most never sammers would even agree.

I cant imagine he's loved the buffalo experience and would love a change of venue.

If VO plays with Eichel and on the first unit PP l, he hits 60 easily.

You don’t know that though. Sam got his 9 games and if he would stuck he woulda stuck. Drai is better. Not only that but during the 9 games, Drai coulda changed one or two of those games. Just saying the point of tanking always was McEichel. Sam was supposed to be good and hasn’t lived up to a 2nd billing. Don’t think anyone disagrees. Most people just say he’s a quality player and his only contribution isn’t being Eichel’s best friend.

But how many more should sam have?

Eichel gifts goals. Sam is not a finisher. Or are we pretending he's a goal mouth presence now too?

He scoots in front, but why is risto on the pp if sam is so good in front?
