I love what I've read about him.

Shot, can score from anywhere and in a variety of ways (wrist, backhand, snap), hockey IQ, competitiveness, can play all three forward positions in a pinch, can kill penalties, has that "underdog" mentality (little chip on his shoulder), "best goal scorer in the draft".

What's not to like?

Cause he was essentially an overager this year and played on a stacked Ottawa 67’s dream.

I honestly hope I’m wrong, I really do. I’d be more then happy to be chirped for this for the next decade because the Sabres will be a good hockey team, I just can’t see how this guy is a top 10 pick I really don’t.

Because he is relatively old, 4 days removed from last years draft.
He has had 1 good year, and it came from virtually nothing last year.
Could he be great...sure, so could Nylander.
Is it a question mark...yes, for sure.

The pundits did make good points and ones I have been stating for years, the Sabres need better wings to play with Eichel and now Cozens even though I love centers.

I’m curious if at his age will he be ready for nhl? I’m guessing no but just curious. I see he is kind of skinny though

the screw job of the draft was the red wings. they could of had Sanderson or Askarov. instead they pick another winger when they lack a #1C, D and G.
