TBL doesn't take that trade. No way in hell. I'd love it, believe when I say I would, but it's not gonna happen. |

If there are guys to go after it's Ehlers or Monahan. I'd love Stamkos but he's not coming here, especially with that going back |

Why exactly would you waste your time proposing this trade? On what planet would Stamkos leave Tampa? Have you seen his house? (it’s the one next door to Tom Brady) On the water. No state tax. Yeah, that’s not happening. Columbus. Lmao |

Zero chance of this happening. Lots of things will happen this week, but not this. Likely a goalie will be traded, at least one defenseman as well as a prospect or two. Will be interesting to see what comes back. |

Here is a trade I would want to see.
CBJ gets- Johnny G, Sean Monahan and a pick, maybe 2nd round.
Calgary gets- Anderson, Seth Jones and your 1st round pick.
CBJ gets two 30+ goal scoring players for a Dman that might walk in a few years. |

Gaudreau leaves the same year as Jones, and you bet your butt he'll leave before Jones. So long as we can show Jones we mean business, he'll stay |

Your point about needing SC leadership and experience is well taken. However, our problem is that the team is built to just make the playoffs - not make a deep run in the playoffs.
As much as I like Stamkos, trading for him, doesn't move the needle. He's on the wrong side of 30, and slightly injury-prone.
I would think we could throw that package & cap space at another team: Calgary for Monahan; Winnipeg for Laine; Edmonton for Nugent-Hopkins(pending sign extension); Toronto for Marner (adding pieces or picks).
Getting any of these players would immediatly upgrade the offense, and widen the window for deep SC runs.

Nope - how 'bout Anderson + 2021 1st for Monahan + 2020 2nd ? |

I would do that. I am just super greedy and want Seth Jones on my team! |

This might be the most biased trade I've seen on this site, for obvious reasons. Unless it really is for Stephen Stamkos, then yes, its an overpay. |

I'm not going to comment on what Townsend suggested for Stamkos . . . I mean, just . . . wow.
The suggestions above for other key players are intriguing, however. If one of Columbus' 2 goalies are available, as reported, I could very well see a package including Merzlikins/Korpisalo, Josh Anderson, +? heading to either Calgary OR Edmonton for the players birdie03 mentioned. The price would have to be steep for RNH, I would think. The first Rounder and maybe a defensive piece would have to be included, also. Again, an RNH extension would have to be in place, and maybe Edmonton throws in Puljujarvi just for giggles. (The GM who passed on him for Dubois!! LOL. Great theatre!) That would be some decent strength down the middle for sure.
I'm not sure Columbus has the pieces needed (rather, that they'd be willing to part with) to make a Laine trade happen. Ehlers perhaps.

Pending what Nugent-Hopkins wants to sign an extension . . . not too extravagent term & $$$ . . .
I'd prefer Monahan - younger, reasonably signed for next 3 seasons.
But I'd take first shot at Nugent-Hopkins.
I'd do Ehlers !! Maybe Anderson, Bemstrom + 2021 4th rndr. ?? Wennberg ?? |

Don't want Bemstrom gone, I think he's got serious potential. How about Wennberg with 20% retained salary, Anderson, and 3rd rounder? |

I think the Sabres will also target Monahan . Could be pricey not many young centers available with 3 years of control.

To include Wennberg the deal would need some sweetening, and likely some salary retention, as mentioned by Mokus, though I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to the Jets taking a chance on him. It's too bad things have fallen off the rails for him so badly. One wonders if he'd thrive in a new environment. (?) Perhaps put with 1 or 2 of the Jets top-notch wingers he'd surprise!
Maybe there's a deal to be had involving one of our Ohio boys (Roslovic or Harkins) for one of your quality D-men (Savard?), Wennberg, and a pick of some sort. (??) |

This team has some great pieces but overall is extremely average. I feel like they're destined for a similar fate as the Wild unless they start making some moves. Trading all your draft capital to Ottawa for one run wasn't the best idea but hey, you beat Tampa and moral victories are more than some teams can even hope for.
If the CapFriendly buyout calculator is correct, kick rocks Alex Wenneberg: https://www.capfriendly.c...lexander-wennberg#results
Go on and be great somewhere else but CBJ can eat that contract and sign a guy like Soderberg for less dollars and better production. Maybe you ship him to the sens so they can hit the floor this season, who knows, but honestly he has never lived up to the contract and a change of scenery cant hurt.
Next, get in on this Arizona fire sale. Kessel might want nothing to do with Torts, or he may be exactly the kind of coach he wants to play for and prove he's a true professional. It's no secret CBJ gets all their offense on the PP and Phil's shot is exactly what the team needs. Josh Anderson and a conditional pick.

Sir, General, Sir - ya gotta give to get !! To get a breed like Laine, Nugent-Hopkins, etc. you have to be prepared to give a prospect like Bemstrom, Foudy, or Texier.
In Laine's situation you'd have control for several more years; with Nuge I'd want him signing an extension now, for an appropriate term & $$$.
With Monahan, if it needs something like replacing one of our pieces with a goalie, I'd do it. PLD at 1C, Monahan @ 2C would really help the top 3 lines come together like they should. |

I absolutely believe Wennberg would thrive in a new environment. Look what happened last summer when he played in the 2019 WC. Had 10 (3-7) pts in 6 games. If he gets away from Torts he'll thrive . . . they just don't mesh. |

I would think their focus would be using Staal as a placeholder to develop the C's in their system |
