Sir, General, Sir - ya gotta give to get !! To get a breed like Laine, Nugent-Hopkins, etc. you have to be prepared to give a prospect like Bemstrom, Foudy, or Texier.
In Laine's situation you'd have control for several more years; with Nuge I'd want him signing an extension now, for an appropriate term & $$$.

With Monahan, if it needs something like replacing one of our pieces with a goalie, I'd do it. PLD at 1C, Monahan @ 2C would really help the top 3 lines come together like they should.

I wasn't talking about Laine though, nor do I want him. Ehlers offers you even more control. And if you have to add something else to the pot, so be it, but I don't think it should be a promising prospect in an already depleted pool.
