Day 1 misses IMO.

Stevie Y who has continues to be less than stellar at first round selections.

Walk down to Carolina and that was a miss.

TML, don't care what DCT thinks another soft skilled forward to add to that line up whether they trade someone away or not is hilarious.

Barron by the Avs. Schneider by the Rangers. These teams are trying to create a monopoly on RHD.

San Jose Ozzy Wiesblatt pick I would say is a bit of a reach, more of a mid round 2nd but SJ doesn't pick in the 2nd so 50/50.

How did we do in the draft? Did JB trade in to the top 31?

Asking for a friend...lol

Hot take: Marky is going to struggle if he goes anywhere other than the Canucks. New city, new teammates, and most importantly new goalie coach are going to throw him off his game.
- NewYorkNuck

I never like to get something for nothing so.

Mikko Koskinen and Oilers 3rd for Marky's rights.

Van gets a goalie two years at 4.5. Expansion draft and or trade next season with a year left on his contract and MD is closer to ready.

Almost identical stats as Marky.

Clears up cap for Edmonton to sign Marky and Van gets another 3rd round pick this year.

Should have taken Fleury at 4M for Vegas's 29th pick. Granted all my Favs were picked by then. I'm sure JB could have found someone.

Do you really think Fleury would be good here though? Kind of on the downside of his career and Marky was establishing himself with top 10 numbers. Fleury to me would be a step back IMO...

Fleury would be here to be the backup. Play 30 games or so, give Demko 50+

I suppose and I am ok with giving Demko the reigns if Marky wants too much. Fleury probably wants to still be a starter no?

Probably, but his numbers weren't great last year, so can't really justify being a starter.

Same sort of position as Lundqvist will be in: star goalie as 1b backup mentor to the young guy.

Day 2 players to pick from 2-7
Helge Grans RHD
Jan Mysak W
Sam Colangelo W
Luke Tuch W
Carson Bantle W
Blake Biondi W
Landon Kosior RHD
Landon Slaggert C
Wyatt Schingoethe C
Owen Pederson W
Ryan O'Rourke LHD
Eamon Powell RHD
Luke Prokop RHD
Mason Langenbrunner RHD (probably not drafted)
Brock Faber RHD
Jacob Truscott LHD
Luke Reid RHD
Chase Bradley W (probably not drafted)
Pavel Novak W (probably not drafted)
Nick Malik G

Contrary to DCT and the abundances of NHL talent left in this draft. I mean Antonio Stranges was a legit top 10 pick this season according to him before the season started.

Albin Grewe who Van should have taken in the 2nd round last season has a single point in the SHL over two years. (22 games)

Is on the downside but he's won cups. Marky hasn't won a thing. Mentorship. Plus getting something to make the team better in front of the net minder.

Edmonton and Calgary getting their versions of Bo Horvat in the draft.

Calgary really far behind but Edmonton if Halloway turns into Bo and Bouchard, Broberg add to Klefbom, Nurse, Larsson.

Good thing they are the Oilers and will find a way to screw it up.

Today could be a day of building and signing , but maybe not.

I seen a few weeks back a lot of people in here posting don't overpay or go long term with Markstrom or Toffoli . Bring back Jake instead of Toffoli. Keep Boeser . Looks like Benning agrees with you.

I think if Jake is gone it will be today.

I am glad OJ is still here seeing we have waited this long I am curious to see the next part of the story.

I have no irons in the fire for certain prospects so it doesn't matter to me who they take, but I hope they don't trade Jake for a second round pick. I was okay if it was a first round pick but a second round pick I would rather keep him.

you'd hope right? But does anybody truly have faith JB can A) Aquire picks? or B) trade out any unwanted contracts?

I unfortunately don't

I don't think he can trade unwanted contracts no. That said I don't think Sutter is an unwanted contract. Loui is but not Sutter IMO.

Benning should never again be allowed to utter the phrase We want to acquire picks. It is definitely his weak point.

Agreed. I am by no means a big fan of Jake but moving him for a second would be a poor move. Essentially moving a bona fide NHLer for an unknown.

Would prefer swapping him for another reclamation project (not that those have ever worked out either though lol).

There is no other option. The trade will happen soon. A very bad trade.

I hope Jake is part of a package deal to get someone else/an upgrade to the RHD.

I would even try to swap him with DeBrusk – similar players needing new starts.

Addition Subtraction moving parts.

There are only a few things that are off the table for me. Trading Petey or Hughes and trading another 1st.
