I don't think he can trade unwanted contracts no. That said I don't think Sutter is an unwanted contract. Loui is but not Sutter IMO.
Benning should never again be allowed to utter the phrase We want to acquire picks. It is definitely his weak point. - VANTEL
Loui and Beagle are unwanted, Sutter still has value.
I would go Sutter (1 mil retained) for a 3rd. |

There is no other option. The trade will happen soon. A very bad trade. - Fidel
Absolutely nothing will happen. JB will make his 3rd to 7th round picks and will try and sign all of his UFAs and RFAs. The 20-21 team will be pretty much the same team as 19-20. |

I'm not sure that is true as we can always keep him, especially in light of the Toffoli rumors. I mean, the kid's got the Hockey IQ of a dull rock but his north-south style of play is not likely to regress anytime soon, with his goal output steadily increasing year to year.
Trading a likely (almost current) 20g/20a 24 year old for a second rounder is just (frank)ing dum.

Addition Subtraction moving parts.
There are only a few things that are off the table for me. Trading Petey or Hughes and trading another 1st. - manvanfan
Miller and the NMC Boys also. |

Under the right conditions, would be perfectly fine giving up a first. If Ekblad was coming back in some package, I wouldn't blink at that first. |

Yup same dude who said he should have taken Grewe instead of POdkolzin cus he has the same skill set with higher upside....kids a real draft guru - Brooks_Light
DCT from last year.
Canucks Draft
10 Zegras/Boldy
40 Rees/Grewe
71 Billy Constantinou
102 Ilya Konovalov
133 Carter Berger
156 Xavier Simoneau
164 ?
183 ?
195 ?
Undrafted. I got undrafted players in some of mine but there are usually my 7th round picks, not 3rd and 5ths |

Yeah. But I bet JB will hit the panic button soon and shot on the bed. Or will not find the button and all FA will walk away.

Van has probably 2 potential top 6 forwards(Hogs Podz) and 3 (OJ, Rathbone, Woo) top 4 potential D in the system.
Core is strong for now but prospect cupboards literally empty by the end of this season and with no first or second round pick this year. Canuck farm system could be bottom 5 if 2 or 3 of those 5 potentials graduate to the NHL this season. |

Sure seems like they want Narky and my goodness Jimbo is gonna go for tyson Barrie I bet |

Lawton is writing on the main blog that teams are asking Vegas for a first and a second and 33 % hold on Fluery's two years at 7 mil. They may have no other choice but we do. No way I would do that with Loui |

I hope Jake is part of a package deal to get someone else/an upgrade to the RHD.
I would even try to swap him with DeBrusk – similar players needing new starts. - NewYorkNuck
Debrusk and Jake really aren't very similar. Debrusk is much more like Leivo.

I get that people really care about the farm system – and it's needed – but it's not the end-all be-all of a team. If they trade the first for a 24 year old #1 RHD, that guy is going to stay with the team for 6 plus years. The first round pick in the 20s likely isn't going to turn into a stud player like that.
Same with the kids in the farm system. You're adding them to a team with 3 young top 6 players, 1 young top pair D, and a young goalie. There are only so many spots open on a team. That's the core for the next 6+ years.
I agree trading a first just because isn't helpful, we need to have kids pushing for spots. However, packaging it for a young stud top pairing RHD that's going to be with the franchise core for its window is fine by me. |

I seen on twitter today a poll of who would the fans prefer JTM or the kid with the long name at #20 . Eighteen % took the kid with the long name.

Day 2 players to pick from 2-7
Helge Grans RHD
Jan Mysak W
Sam Colangelo W
Luke Tuch W
Carson Bantle W
Blake Biondi W
Landon Kosior RHD
Landon Slaggert C
Wyatt Schingoethe C
Owen Pederson W
Ryan O'Rourke LHD
Eamon Powell RHD
Luke Prokop RHD
Mason Langenbrunner RHD (probably not drafted)
Brock Faber RHD
Jacob Truscott LHD
Luke Reid RHD
Chase Bradley W (probably not drafted)
Pavel Novak W (probably not drafted)
Nick Malik G
Contrary to DCT and the abundances of NHL talent left in this draft. I mean Antonio Stranges was a legit top 10 pick this season according to him before the season started.
Albin Grewe who Van should have taken in the 2nd round last season has a single point in the SHL over two years. (22 games) - manvanfan

Speaking of twitter, I got a PM yesterday telling me you set up a twitter account in my username in order to trash me and my wife.
My wife!?
Seriously!?
You are pathetic! Grow the f*ck up.
For a guy who doesn't care about what I say, it sure seems like you care a lot. You need help. |

As mentioned, I’ll play as soon as I make room for it or get an external drive. It’s a huge download on Xbox if you don’t have the disks. This week at work is nuts. |
