I get it. Quantity is great but I also believe player development is key to turning high draft picks into quality NHL players. Not sure that Ottawa has that system in place to take high picks to the next level.

I think I remember Colby Armstrong saying he gets a bi-weekly pay check like the rest of the leafs payroll

Yes I know, I’m speaking strictly about the possibility of them being really good in the future due to using the draft to draft some great kids. The whole ownership thing is a huge caveat that will determine their success or failure though.

Yeah, Ottawa’s scouting and development isn’t the issue. If anything, richer teams should try to poach some of their staff.
