I think he'd easily get $1M, even in this market. - Nucker101
I think he'd easily get 2 mil pretty much anywhere. |

They're interviewing Mitchell Miller right now, Coyotes draft pick who got sent to court as a 14 year old for assault.

We will see if Canucks draft for position in the fifth - VANTEL
Doesn't make sense to draft for position that late, pickings are slim, just draft whoever has the most intriguing set of overall size/speed/skill/hockey sense. Needs change every few years anyway with trades/signings/breakouts/bsyst. |

QO would have been $2.3M. If the Canucks thought that they could sign him for that (or even $2M) and get good cap value, they probably would have done it. I guess they must either think that is “too much” or they don’t see him as part of their plans.
EDIT: for Troy from Richmond... |

I’m glad he is gone. If you are a midget you better at least score. Easily replaceable |

I think they'll low ball him and if he doesn't go for it they'll walk away. They need all the money they can get so saving a couple hundred K on his contract will matter to them. |

Doesn't make sense to do it early either. |

I agree
If this was the NFL then different story. Most of your draft picks there actually play for you right away. |

Lots of Markstrom rumours but can confirm the Canucks and Markstrom are still working on it, still trying to get a deal done in Vancouver.
They have not stopped trying. |

Would rather Schenn than Stetcher for the money they'll be offering. |

I hope Jim isn't falling for that obvious agent leak to the local media. |

I read a good article from Drance regarding the Canucks reaction to Toffoli not accepting their deal. Hopefully they feel the same about Marky.
Internally, however, Canucks hockey operations seem to have reacted to the Toffoli reports Tuesday with a bit of a shrug. It’s a deeply uncertain market, there’s very few contracts — big or small — being signed by NHL teams and as a result there’s a lot of nervousness and tension across the board for teams, players and agents.
From the Canucks’ perspective, nothing changed on the Toffoli front Tuesday. Certainly the club hasn’t moved on, but they also haven’t committed to Toffoli and he has the right to test the market. While the club values Toffoli highly, they also seem to be comfortable with that. |

I am not a big Tanev fan. I do trust his D though. I just think it is an over payment |

Most of the silly Canuck rumors come from the local guys. If they saw something written on a bathroom wall, it would be on the air immediately as a source.

We'll see but I think Tanev is the most likely to sign a team friendly deal. |
