I mean he liked Gudbranson, Sbisa and Pooliot too. It's safe to say that outside of Hughes, the Canucks staff aren't the best at evaluating dmen compared to other teams. Most of the dmen the Canucks acquire don't live up to expectations.

I would keep in mind Canucks have not announced they are done with the OEL talks. Which also could trigger the Markstrom signing. If they walk away from OEL/Marky there is no reason Canucks don't have money for Toffoli. I personally think they are still waiting on Arizona to make a decision.

Still think he gets dealt. Teams were probably waiting to see if he was going to get qualified. If he wasn't he would be free. Now if they want him they gotta deal with the Canucks.

But let's be honest.... if he gets dealt the return is going to be underwhelming... like a late 2nd rounder
