Matt Lee from AP is a star if you watch the daily State Department pressers on youtube. None of the whistle blowing he does makes it past his editors though. None the less, you get to see the US forced to address questions that Washington Post, NYT, CNN etc refuse to publish. You'd be surprised what you learn about US foreign policy watching these pressers.

Agreed, I think there will be a number of quality players willing to sign one-year show deals...especially if it means playing with one of those three.

Like that Benning isn't forcing it...re-up the young guys, trust in the growth of the core, and be patient for the right moves (big fish, late offseason signing, trade with team close to the cap).

If they refuse to give him a no trade in the first year, the price goes up. Canucks already have no cap space left along with more important holes to fill so that will kill the deal.

Why it's not meaningless is that they can keep both goalies if the report is true. It may cost them Tanev or TT in the end, but that was likely they would lose 1 or 2 of the 3 anyways.
