I thought Toews was good and did make some mistakes and if any of our dman had to go I can live with Toews being the odd man out. Dobson is ready and Green will be an affordable signing and played well for us last year.

Yeah I can’t really disagree with this at all. I’ve seen much worse defensemen get big contracts so that’s what I was basing 5/25 off of.

Plus, haven’t seen one poster say “hurr durr, Toews sucks!!11!”

So to think anyone is cheering right now is a (frank)ing stupid train of thought.

Hell I wasn’t the hugest deHaan fan and it kinda sucked to see him go. It is what it is. It’s called reality.

What are some RFA Toews type comparables? I hate him gone but I get that Ladd, Leddy, Komarov, and JB contracts are not helping the situation.

He has his moments for sure but this gives Dobson a clear path to being the horse he is expected to be. Gotta resign Pelech in another year and already have to pay Pulock before next season. Trotz loves Leddy so he wasn’t going anywhere and Boychuk is basically Unmovable. Something has to give and honestly he isn’t very good in his own end while I liked him this won’t hurt the isles as much as some would like to think imo

I would say he is top 4 for sure when talking about O but playing actual D he is a 5-6. So in my book more like a 4/5 guy on a good team.
