Yeah this is a perfect signing for the right value. Exactly what this team needs, kudos to Dorion. The 'upgrades' to the D core and G position are, IMO, far more suspect.

Obviously tough to know what other teams were offering, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. That being said, a three-year term on a consistent 25 goal guy is hardly an over-commitment.

We just paid under 6, for a top line winger on great term.

Hell no. Were a rebuilding team it's to add to what we have not to trade away our players some teams are strapped with minimal cap space. I'm sure some prospects and draft picks will do lol

Did not expect this at all. Rumor Chart people also didn't even have Ottawa on the list. I was thinking Buffalo. I hope Duclair circles back to Ottawa.

I've seen you give your opinion on Laine here a few times, and I 100 percent agree with you!! Stay away!!

A little late in his career for that label I think. And he's been in the NHL for 3 years.

But I still like the signing.

I like Daddy a lot and knew hed get more than 4 but like someone else said perhaps on another thread, wait and see how he does without Barkov and Huberdeau.

No one has cap space just wait until beginning of the season and sign guys for cheap or get them in trade for nothing.

He likely won’t be a 28 goal guy, but highly doubt he’ll turn into a 12 goal guy either. As long as he’s in the 20s I’ll be happy. Plus, he’ll likely share a line with Tkachuk, who’s no slouch.
