I think any NHL team out there would love to acquire Laine. That said, the Jets, rightfully, will want a significant haul. The problem there is Laine only has one year left, so do the Jets allow the other team to negotiate an extension before the trade? In a shortened season I would not want to give up the haul required for a one year rental. |

Personally I don't see Laine being traded this year. The asking price is probably way too high and he just isn't a "gut the system" kind of player. Every team would love to have him with their current team, but with the flat cap only a very few could fit him and give the asking price. |

He’s not a rental, he is under team
Control for at least three years. |

Laine is being under-valued significantly right now. At least in the rumours I’ve heard. WPG should figure out a way to lock him up long term, because it doesn’t appear they’ll get full value for him in a trade
If he truly does want out, CLB appears to be a match. Could a straight up deal for Werenski work? Obviously Seth Jones is too valuable

He can live with Teemu in Coto de Caza until he gets pad in Newport.
The only Duck untouchables are Gibson.. Jets don't need a goalie.. Zegras and Drysdale.
Let's make a deal. |
|
|
|
They should trade him at next draft.... get through expansion draft first... this upcoming seasons gonna be a crap shoot anyways with the late start, possibly condensed schedule.... better to get through it in my opinion... trade him at next draft |

Whew I was gonna say! Chevy would be patting Laine on the butt while mumbling "Let's go big boy we gonna get you to the airport stat". |

I could actually see something like that happening too. Seth Jones is a straight 100% no, but Werenski could make sense, 5m per and locked up for 2 more years.
Not sure how it would work out for Columbus though. Having Dubois, at least after he re-signs with that new massive deal, and Laine could give them young offensive punch, but their prospect pipeline right now is absolutely trash, especially on D.
If Chevy wanted to stick it too Laine, sending him to Columbus would do the trick. |

Anything from Philly not named Hart, Provorov or Couturier. Philly better not (frank) this up. Our forward group is such a terrible mix. |

I feel so bad for Patty......getting paid $6.75 million while so many of us are taking big financial hits with the pandemic.

There are not many guys in the league who can shoot the puck like Laine. For sure he is top 5 in the NHL.
He also proved this year he could contribute more defensively and with playmaking to some extent.
Would be very hard to get good value for him. You might ask for Seth Jones but get Werenski plus a pick.
Enough?

Rosiovic & Laine to Chicago for Toews & Future pick - Tee56
While I'd love me some Toews, especially AFTER the Stastny 2.0 experiment has likely finalized after this season, I mean no disrespect to the player or the man, but as far as assets are concerned that doesn't get it done for acquiring Patrik Laine. Retain half his salary and throw in 2 more assets and there's something to talk about. If the Jets are going to spend 10.5 million on a player, they'd much prefer it be Laine, I'm sure.

Its a shame that Maurice and his stubbornly poor use of his personnel is driving Laine, Roslovic and Niku out of Winnipeg. The Jets will never get a fair return for them. |

Jets are in a market, situation, where players coming back in a Laine deal better have RFA rights or long’ish term deal.
To trade Laine for a player with one or two years should be a non-starter |

You would get neither and they certainly wouldn’t be adding a pick |

Trading Werenski straight up for Laine is questionable for the Jackets. In Zach you have an elite puck mover, big shot, great team mate and a very exciting player. Why trade him for a big shot and a big mouth who most likely will kill team unity with his self absorbed attitude. Stay clear Jackets, Flyers and Isles. I would not want this guy on my fav teams. |
