I am in the minority but I still believe they ruined the 21 and 22 season by playing the rest of the 20 season out. If they called the 19-20 season over they would have had from April to October/November to figure out how the 20-21 season would work. Even if if had to be shortened. I understand the financial aspect of this but they could easily have an 82 game season by now if they had 6 months to work on it and figure it out. Instead they ruined the 2020-21 season by who knows how much and that will roll into how the 2021-2022 season will get under way. No chance the NHLPA allows an NHL season to end in August and start up again in October for a full 82.

As for the Olympics, who cares? I don't know anyone who gets all jacked for the Olympics. It gets big ratings because its the only hockey on. If the league were to continue and not pause ratings would crater for the Olympics. Its why they always negotiate the pause and the league gets good $ out of it. Tell the IOC to eat it and worry about the season because the health of the NHL is more important than the Olympics.

I think were all in agreement that A Jan 1 start date would be awesome! Couple things, A) is the Canadian boarder going to be open? Is the NBA traveling to Toronto or are the Raptors playing all their home games in the States? A 72 game season isn't the worst thing Ive heard.
