Looks like in 4-5 years we will have a Bishop/Vasilevsky conundrum with Shesty/Garand. |

the talk of Garand make me look at the goalies taken in the draft and I hadn't realized that Pittsburgh first two picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds were both goalies
Devils also took a goalie right before the Rangers took Garland in 4th round
Rangers loaded with goalies as always because Lindbom starting to look good too |

Isnt Wall a pretty decent goalie too?
Im not expecting any of these guys to become #1's but definitely looking like serviceable goalies for rebuilding teams or as backups. |

I'm not complaining about the Garland pick, but there was a kid going into the draft that I personally wanted them to take named Sean Farrell, real little guy, he's super skilled, he ended up being last pick of 4th round to Montreal
I certainly believe that they had Garland ranked pretty highly though

All I know is the Rangers are/were rebuilding building this team from the back forward... and I think henceforth, were good head-over-heels with goalies and D. |

stacked everywhere but center, and that's ok, just make that the priority
I re-watched the first round the other day and the moment they announced the trade where the Rangers moved up to 19, they showed a camera shot of Hendrix Lapierre with family and they all got really excited thinking that the Rangers moved up to take him, I felt a little bad for him
but, I think Schneider was the right call. the kid is a beast who can do everything

Like Ive said before, JD was so excited to get him, I simply cant ignore that. I will trust him until I cant.
Were so deep with prospects that, some day in the next year or 2 they will pay dividends in a trade. They can also afford to give up picks in 2021 as its not the deepest of drafts. |

Former Ranger Shane Churla was named Director of Amateur Scouting by the Florida Panthers.
Churla --- a rugged forward is best remembered for fighting known tough guy Stu Grimson even though he had a fractured orbital bone in his face. |

Thanks for keeping up the solid work Jan, even as the slow part of the offseason goes into full effect.
I know you've done this in the past, but it could be a good conversation: Can you put out a ranking of your top 10/15/20 prospects? Not necessarily a list that has already been produced, but rather your very own. Then, perhaps you can give a few updates on each player. Just a thought! |

And somehow Churla is the piece I think of most fondly that came back
I've always maintained I felt like we won the cup despite Smith not because it. Could you imagine if we had done nothing in the mid 90s, and we just let Norstrom and Marc Savard become 2 of our core pieces in the late 90s? I mean we're the Rangers, not like we wouldn't have signed a bunch of other guys anyway. |

people are just absolutely raving about him this year

The longer the season gets pushed back, the more I think he might contend for a roster spot this year, bonus be damned. If he doesn't come over this year, he's gotta be here next year. He's just too good.

I can't help but ponder how much trade value he has too
but then we could very well trade the next Niklas Lidstrom

He kind of looks like Jesper Fast a bit. Might help calm all the people pissed we didn't bring him back - TPC
I think Lundkvist will get to 55 career goals a lot quicker than Jesper did |

Nobody gonna complain when he brings back Eichel in a couple of years! |
