Anthony Travalgia: Tuukka Rask once again defends leaving bubble Once again, Tuukka Rask defended his decision to leave the Toronto playoff bubble, this time going into further detail what his family emergency was.

Flyers fan here, I have no issue with Tukka leaving the bubble to be with his child! Not even a question! Family first and if you have children, dealing with a pandemic and everything that has been attached to it, they are the priority!

Only Flyers fans posting on the Bruins page??? Family first......Odd times and priorities cant' be the game - no matter how much it seems to matter to some fans.

I fail to see the reason why he needs to defend himself.

Agree with what everyone else has said here so far, and I'll add this: even if for some crazy reason someone would think that Rask shouldn't have "abandoned" (or other ridiculous word) his team during the playoffs, my response to that would be that he was actually helping his team by leaving, since a guy whose mind is not on hockey - especially a goalie - would not be playing anywhere near his best.

He feels like he has to defend himself because half of the Boston fan base crushes him every time he lets a goal in. He never gets the credit he deserves. Dude has put together hall of fame type numbers here and no one gives him the respect he deserves.

Any parent in their right mind would leave their place of employment when finding out that their child is not doing good. No issues as far as I am concerned, other than with those who think he should have stayed with the team.

Next time he shouldn't slam the playoffs 24 hours before then.

He has perfectly good reasoning...but he actions before hand doesn't mesh well with his reasoning.

This is true. Was poorly timed.

It stinks a little for sure. We're all fathers, that has nothing to do with. But his actions before and afterwards are unusual to say the least.

Anyone who has children doesn't need an explanation from Rask!

more like, he left the team when it was felt there was a legit chance at the cup (before the lockdown) and everyone is worried he's gonna leave the team high and dry again, and here it is, one week before the season starts, and he's left the team again.

Sure it was okay with him leaving the bubble. As a habs fan I had a bit of fun with some bruins fans over it, but all in gamesmanship.

When he plays, he's one of the best goalies in the league, theres no replacing him, again, look at last year when they though they had an awesome backup.

He shouldn't have to. This is a chronic issue for this team. They mishandle absolutely everything that is public facing.

I agree, but let's not forget we aren't the easiest fans to please (myself included).

No there is serious issue with reacting emotionally.
