Everything he touches turns to nothing.
Or a self goal.
KK and Evans deserve more icetime and better linemates to finish the opportunities they create. |

it's because the contrast between how they're playing now and how they were playing at the beginning of the season is so drastic that we feel it's more worrying than it really is. I'm still confident they can manage through this without imposing such changes, but we'll see |

I guess Danault has the opposite of Midas' touch. He had 6 years x 5 million put in his hands and he's turned it into 1 year 1 million.
Jokes aside I think hockey has got to be the highest variance sport. It seems like in football and basketball it's much rarer for the worse team to upset the better one. Habs are going through a slump of nothing going their way and they're getting frustrated and overcomplicating as a result. |

It's not so much the results of the last few games.
Since the beginning of the season:
Chiarot has been physical but is often out of position and takes alot of penalties. Without good positioning by him and Weber, their lack of speed becomes a liability.
I've covered Danault's dreadful start to the season, yet he's still the 2nd most used forward on the team. KK and Evans are creating more with less right now, why not give them more and see what happens?
Kulak's overall play isn't terrible but he has lapses of costly mistakes that turned into goals.
When the team's winning, you can decide to let things go, but when it's not.... you can't just watch the parade go by, imo.

meh, I still think your perspective is flawed, every division has weaker teams. but thanks for the trolling attempt, you'll get it some time I'm sure - Pat1993
So you obviously did not do the simple thing such as looking at the Goals Against column in the standings?
NYR, NJ and Buff have GA of 33, 26, 32
EDM, Vanc OTT have GA 52, 66 and 63. Yeah those seem on par ...

oh I agree changes must be made at some point, just saying if the recent losses were hard-fought games in which the habs didn't look so turrible we might not be so eager to mix it up right away.

And those teams have played 9-11 games while the North has played 14-16
13 of the top 16 teams with the worst GA per game are not in the North |

You're probably right.
And you know what? I expect very little change.
Or KK getting benched for no reason.

one thing i notice is how easily they give up the neutral zone. they just let teams carry the puck through and establish a presence in their zone. it's like all they're looking for is a turnover and counter rush. teams are wise to it and stuffing the neutral zone against them and they're just baffled.

This team was counting on JK and Suzuki to be top centers. JK has been so-so all year Suzuki had been excellent. These last few games he's fallen off a bit as have the habs. To compound the problem Danualt hasn't been as good either, the habs haven't been getting all they need from their centers. Furthermore Price was always there to save the team, they no longer have that safety blanket. While you can't blame Price for the team not scoring I think his play has affected their confidence. |

Habs, Leafs, Jets and Flames are all in the top half in GA per game, all but the Jets are actually in the top 12 in the league |

given that they cannot establish anything through the neutral zone anymore i'd try to beef up a line with some big guys like KK/Anderson/Armia/oh wait those are all the big guys we have up front. try to control the puck a bit so that it's not just a long unscreened 70 mph point shot from Joel Edmundson and then back the other way. |

they've been scoring 1-2 goals/game for the last 2 weeks. goalending is not even a discussion. Anderson and Smith were barely bothered the last 2 nights.

I don't see it. Habs don't have star power upfront. their weapon is their depth. they have to roll 3-4 lines. benching kk wouldn't be good for the kid nor for the team.
