I remember collecting these back in 1985. Back then Harry Neale was benching Steve Yzerman. He was fired soon after.

Holy crap! We loved those things! Don’t play tug of war or set them on fire (4 boys in the house). Back then there were some insane wrestlers. Hillbilly Jim, Junkyard Dog, Iron Sheik, George The Animal Steele. Half those guys weren’t even in good shape!

My aunt used to have weight issues. I used to visit her once in awhile and I'd always put my King Kong Bundy wrestler in the fridge thinking it would motivate her to lose weight.

It wasn't very nice. All I got was a scolding from my mother and my Dad grounding me as he tried his best not to laugh his ass off. Good times.

Unfortunately he was never worth that pay for the Wings. 43 pts his 1st year w/ the Wings, but a less than stellar -19. And steadily worse after that.

Once Franz clears waivers, Stevie can trade him for Henrique if the Ducks retain $1M and Stevie will retain $2M on Franz.

They were trying to replace Pav. Just not possible unfortunately

Jeremy, George "The Animal" Steele was a high school teacher in the Detroit area, Royal Oak, I think. While he was wrestling.

I think fippulia should also be put on waivers. Between Nielsen and fippulia this year not counting there contracts I think Nielsen has been the better player. I wonder though what is Yzerman thinking letting either of them play when each of them bring no offence to speak of and are defensive liabilities. Smith , Hirose and svetch should be playing instead.

Man, it was so much fun back then. Weird, but fun. My brothers and I all got hurt trying to imitate Jimmy “superfly” snooka. Body slams onto couch cushions, etc. good times

Fil’s contract expires this year. All waivers would do is get him to either the taxi squad or GR. Hirose hasn’t even scored in GR. Smith is good when he’s on, but when he goes cold he gets in trouble. The kids need more minutes than they’ll get up here. I would like to see Svech play, but for me Hirose just never got back to where he was his first season.

Interestingly, Cholo has 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 games in GR. Ras is 2 and 2.

Winter of 1988, Lake Placid, NY. Went to see the WWF. Afterwards, we went to this small bar right by the speed-skating rink. Had a few when in walked Hulk, Jake The Snake, Mean Gene, The Animal....I had on a U of M hat and my Air Force jacket which started a conversation with George Steel. An amazing guy, smart - Lord he was smart. Andre’ The Giant walked in & bought the house a round. My ARM disappeared in his hand. “George” said he was from Royal Oak. Real name was Bill Myers, had a degree from Central Mich U & MSU, think (can’t remember right now) his undergrad was English and his grad was in Literature....could be wrong.

Those guys were amazing to meet. Gentle, respectful, funny....a night I’ll never forget.
