While I would agree Green might need to go in the off season this club has enough raw talent to win games and close them out IMO. Next step? We'll see but this club has improved 3-4 spots in the standings under Benning in 5 successive years. I guess we measure success a bit different. My expectations are systematic. It requires patience. Boeser - Petey - Hughes - Demko - Hogs and others are players you build championships around not talk about trades right now. Sooner or later the bad contracts will fade and all will be well. As the great band Rush said...Little Victories man...Little Victories... - LordHumungous
Canucks shed the bad juju. No choke team reverse retro jerseys for the win. Demko the least work and slightly sloppy and he gets his first shut out. Could things roll Canucks way for their version of March Madness?
lol whatever...you just n't give it up that Benning has improved the club.......as well - LordHumungous
The club has improved with Benning, but I think any club drafting that high would improve. Most people believe that they would be improving more if Benning wasn't getting in the way of his own success.
And I bring TG up because you're usually throwing praise at Benning's feet in the time frame while poopooing Green

3 years my bad - LordHumungous
But for the two years before that the club got worse. Now they're going to get worse again. I mean he's currently the longest tenured GM in club history and we have a bunch of bottom 10 finishes to show for it and some bad contracts moving forward?
You wouldn't accept that performance record out of a player.....or coach. I do not understand the love for JB. Yes he's drafted some nice players but he's had a ton of top picks, and when he hasn't it's been because he has dealt them away.
Just look at some of the contracts on the books next year.......gross.

Sorry since 2017.
2017 - 29th
2018 - 26th
2019 - 23rd
2020 - 17th
Current - 23rd.
I still think they can finish 16-19 but I honestly thought they would be on the PO bubble with the Flames.

It was a good win but they are still soft and the bottom 6 is atrociously over-paid.

I have slammed Benning too for bad contracts but most GM;'s have those not much point in whining about it. Drafting has been excellent.
And yes I have been in Greens corner but it's clear the 'next step' is with another coach admittedly
