You have to wonder if Ralphy is actually an NHL coach? - 1970vintage

That is exactly the problem he is good but no one is taking on a 10 mil contract for five more years. - VANTEL
10 mil, especially in a flat cap, is too much for him. Would like to have him on the Canucks, but in the 7-8 mil range.
Could see him playing that JTM type winger/forward position. |

How could that many players who have had success so recently be so bad?
I’d trade for Eicsey if we could send the last year and a bit of Lui the other way.
2021 first (unprotected), Rathbone, JV & Eriksson
The money about balances, two nice pieces a dump and a “potential”. I’m sure an actual trade will be better than that offer but we’ll see. |

I would hang onto that 2021 pick. I would do 2022. I would not trade Rathbone either.
If I traded anything it would be JTM and Roussel. Money for money.
I am not a big Eichel fan but I do know he can be very good.

I think Rathbone will be a stud. This year's pick is going to be high for the Canucks, no need to trade that away.
If Buffalo trades Eichel, I think they'd want young guys back, no? Don't think JTM would interest them unless they're flipping him to another team. |

How about they hold onto the 1st round picks for awhile, let's get this organization fully stocked with talent.
They just gave up last years 1st and 2nd, which causes a void in prospect talent.
This team and it's fans have to be patient. |

He probably will.

Buffalo will start off by requesting the moon for him but when the GMs say no thanks the price will come down and it will fall way off.
Lets say they start off by asking ANA for Zegras Comptois and Steel . ANA tells them go screw themselves and going back and forth come out with Henrique and a first.

Florida bound.
Might have to take Connolly back as part of the deal. |

But the rebuild is over. They are contenders now if not for COVID, the schedule, the flat cap and the refs. |

I think the Canucks will sell at least 1 of Sutter, Pearson or Benn. All 3 would be nice. |

Rathbones a nice player, needs to dominate in the AHL.
JB's in win now mode, picks may be on the table. Hopefully Francesco doesn't allow him to trade them.

I can see Sutter and Pearson going . Sutter is very good on the PK . It would be useful to a team . Canucks can retain half the money so the cap hit to the new team is not horrible.

According to Comets Cory, Rathbone and Woo were a nice pairing over the weekend. |

I would be much more inclined to help Edmonton gear up for the playoffs as opposed to Toronto or Calgary (we've helped them enough).
To Edmonton: Sutter, Edler (salary retained), JV (salary retained), Pearson (salary retained)
To Canucks: 1st - Bakwas

Sutter could be a valuable piece for both Oilers and Jets, because of his PK ability. |

There are 8 Comets at a PPG . Keep in mind they are mostly only playing two teams and most teams have their best players on Taxi Squads . Some teams have top players playing in Europe.
It doesn't mean the players are not playing well it just means scoring might be up a little for top players. |

The important thing is, they are getting games in against similar talent-equal level talent amongst prospects of other teams.
I will not be surprised if the Canucks swap out some of the players on the taxi-squad with the Comets roster, around March 20th, when the Canucks have a 7 day break and before the TDL. |
