If the Flames don't start winning now... the season is done. We could've been 2 points behind Oilers and now we are 6 points behind them. |

Hanifin looks like a completely different player this season and a large part of that I believe is thanks to tanev. My only hope is that what hanifin is doing right now is permanent so that if tanev goes down with injury or later in his contract regresses we can still expect the same results. Not something I want to find out the answer to but just genuine curiosity. |

Guys was the McDavid goal in yesterday... I watched so many replays, it keeps looking like it hit both posts and landed on the line... maybe it's just the angles I am watching. |

Ya you guys got jobbed by Bettman hard maybe more so than us in 2011. That Gelina goal was clearly in lol
If Tampa scored that goal guarnteed Bettman would have went back and allowed it lol |

Even the American broadcasters said the puck crossed the line and from what I heard Bettman sent a memo out to the media telling them to shut up. Maybe Iggy should’ve never picked up the western conference trophy 😭😭😭 |

The thing that pissed me off the most was the NHL saying they reviewed it at the time and determined no goal. Play did not get delayed 1 second in an era when reviews took forever. Not matter what, Bettman was full of poop. |

Feb 1 1993: Gary Bettman becomes commissioner of the NHL
June 9 1993: The Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup.
No Canadian team has won the Cup since. (Calgary came within an unreviewed goal! (imagine a contentious goal in Bettman's NHL not being reviewed? Yes! It really happened! Believe it or not!)
Complete coincidence? After almost 30 years? What are the odds 7 teams out of at most 31 teams. And not a single win for any of those 7 teams? Not once in 28 years. |

I read an American sports article just shortly after Buttman took over and the Habs won in 93. The writer said 'enjoy it now Canada as you will never see a CDN cup winner under Buttman'...go figure lol

I went to those games in 04 (and I have the credit card bills to prove it.)
I was totally into it. I was heartbroken. Warrener lived on my street and I got the neighbours to sign a card thanking him(them) for trying so hard - I'll bet those players still have the taste of being robbed in their mouths.
No sport is so dependent as hockey is on split second events like a missed penalty call or goal tender interference. When an organization's bottom line of literally billions of dollars can be affected by something so miniscule as a missed call (or a missed goal) you'll never get me to believe that pressure on officials is an impossibility.
Greed and power are no strangers to American society (MAGA to name but the most recent example of how 30+ percent of Americans view life) .It's simply reality today and only very naive, wishful thinking people (Canadian hockey fans?) could believe that the NHL operates in a vacuum - and that an "imperfect" outcome is impossible. |

To rub salt in the wound.... the next year (2005) I was in Tampa on a business deal and my vendor says "I want to show you a picture...."
It was a picture of his kids with the Cup. One of the Lightning's kids went to the same school and he took it on his day for his kid's Show and Tell.
Even today that still stings. A lot. |

I don't think that's too unusual. The Cup showed up at my junior high school randomly one day, in Calgary before 2004 |

You should keep your politics out of this, MAGA stands for a long list of positives - sounds like you've bought in 110% into the main stream media narratives being pounded into you. Funny how you criticize Republicans for "greed and power" but you turn a blind eye to sleepy joe's son getting $1 billion from china, and everything the democrats do is to get power and win elections, all the phoney virtue signalling is done so they could get power. Trump had a very pragmatic view of politics, and MAGA even forced the democrats to adopt China-skeptic policies on trade.
I'd also be critical of Trudeau for his greed and his lust for power. We have to put up with so many stupid decisions by Trudeau, just because he wants to be sassy like his dad, and build up his popularity, rather than improve the economic interests of Canadians - namely Albertans. I think you should quit your virtue signalling and focus on fixing the real issues that Albertans face, as well as Americans. It's easy for you to sit in your chair in mount royal, and criticize Trump for prioritizing the American economy - especially in areas that saw many of their companies take their jobs with them to China, think about those 96 million unemployed Americans, and next time pick your words wisely instead of going straight to accusing them of being "greedy" |

I'm pretty disappointed to see Bennett back in the lineup. If he's going to play he should literally have Sutter breathing down his neck in person, ready to bench him for the rest of the game if he gives us one careless shift. But that's why Sam is the way he is - coaches like Huska have to act civil and professional, and Sam learned exactly how to play them for fools. Ritchie and Ryan are at least doing something, same with Lucic, so seeing Bennett's name on the line up made me say "oh man not again, not him".
I expect Mangiapane to flourish even more under Sutter & there's nothing to salvage from Bennett at this point, he'll pick things up a little bit effort wise, but just enough to get by. IF he actually has any skill left, he'll save his 40-60pts season for his new team. |
