Excellent recap!
I want to give credit to the Caps for weathering the 1st period storm of shots by the Islanders. Also credit to the assists for the 3 goals. Kuzy with a great play gives Osh an easy tap in. Vrana with a no look to Backy backdoor and Schultz with a great pass to Ovi's tape for the 718 goal.
Goaltender Samsonov was excellent and I'm hoping he gets the bulk of the starts, although the next two are back to backs so we will see Vanacek too. Caps don't need to aquire a goalie at the trade deadline. I think they stand pat as I think Bmac actually did his trade deadline signings BEFORE the season started since we have extras at forward and defense who could be starting elsewhere. They will become valuable come playoff time if the the Caps make it there. |
