Maybe they played for their possibly sick coaches as motivation? I know it sounds corny but could be a possibility. Guys had career years under him in a half season.

If you're looking for us all to agree on your point, that would make things really boring around here. Perhaps a bit of flexibility on all parties is warranted here, but I hope you recognize that you're arguing with a fairly rational thought logic on this one.

I'm not even the biggest Quinn supporter. I've stated on a number of occasions that some of his deficiencies bug me. But it's utterly ridiculous to think that a coach, who had to be called to NYC a few hours before the game, had that much of an influence on how things unfolded yesterday...

Try to take a step back from this, man. Maybe indulge in a vice or something

This is pretty well said. To me, a better argument than “Knoblauch should be the new head coach”, is “the team looked more relaxed and free last night”. Maybe less about Knoblauchs presence and more about Quinn’s lack of. Maybe he makes the team nervous and they felt less pressure? That could be a real possibility, but I feel pretty confident in saying that there’s no way Knoblauch went rogue and made the Rangers a better team last night.

I’m going to throw this out there. Do you think may KK is pissed that they keep putting him on the taxi squad? Apparently it’s costing him big money. Maybe in the back of his mind he’s like fu

I think it's pretty poopty honestly. Gotta wonder if they have an handshake agreement in place to take care of him later.

It's not his fault they are in a cap crunch.

Why would that bother anyone?????
I don't lose a cent if Quinn gets fired. All I would get out of it is the chance to watch my team lose more games while they adjust to new coaches and systems, when we have very little evidence to show that the move might be warranted.
If the team is together and healthy and they still can't play well over a reasonable period of time, then you may have a case.
The only time this team has iced a roster of what they are looking for, our stars were playing WELL below where we know they can be. EVERY ONE OF THEM.
Change for the sake of change is simply impatience.

Yep. I think ringing that shot off the crossbar instead of putting it in last night was completely intentional. He said he's done with scoring. No more of what they pay you for until they start paying him!

It's only going to cost him future money on his next contract if he doesn't produce and put up points though

You know how many games I have to watch to see my team score 9 goals?

Do you know how many games I have to watch to see my team give up 0 goals?

Can you get more crazy then having your coaching staff out for a game against a team coached by Alain Vigneault?

Pretty crazy!

Obviously as a Devils fan the whole Rangers - Flyers things disgusts me, but bet that was fun as (frank) for yous.

His record doesn't stand out, but you have to like the underlying stats. .921 Save % and 2.31 GAA

He's the real deal.

Why put LAF and VK on their off wings?
Why break up guys who have chemistry?
This seems unnecessarily complicated.

I'd stick largely with what they've been doing:
Kreider/Zib/Buch
Panarin/Strome/Kakko
LAF/Chtyil/Krav
Lemieux/Rooney/Gaut (or Scorewell)

That’s not what they’ve been doing though, they’ve had Zib and Panarin together and Strome and Kreider together. That 3rd line is a recipe for failure, way to young of a line. Cant have 2 rookies with a 21 year old and expect them to be successful.

I think this works best, Howden might get to play on that 4th line but hopefully Panarin can get Kakko going, and Krav can help be the finisher on that line with Chtyil and take some pressure off of Laf.

I don't fault your logic about the 3rd line, thats that's sure.
The switch of the top 2 lines has only been due to guys being out, though. With everyone healthy, I'd be surprised if they don't keep Panarin and Strome together. Same with Mika and Buch. They're so comfortable with each other. Maybe slide Kreider down to play with Chytil and VK. LAF to the top line with Mika and Buch again?

One way or another, that 3rd line is going to be all kids. Theyre not going to sacrifice a veteran who is playing well just to balance out the experience on the lines.

The kids will have to do what theyve been doing all season by just having to figure it out on the go. Hopefully Blackwell's time playing with the kids can rub off on them in the long term.

Im sure he knows that but some of these athletes (I don’t know if he’s one of them )have a fickle way of thinking. poop like this plays on certain types of guys mind.

I’m not saying he’s not trying not to score BUT maybe there’s something going on in the back of his mind. It’s happen to many a athlete. Think about how he was in the bubble , came back to the team strong and played well. And how he came back to the team at the start of the year. Played well both times when he was away from the team for a extended period of time. Now back to I think below his ability. Just my two cents

I was just being a bit of a douche.
I knew he didn't mean he wasn't trying. I just think Kakko's been playing well. He's still just a kid, I think his scoring will come before long. The strides he has made are really impressive, I think.

I like the kid line and said so last night. If the top two lines play well they can take their time to develop so to speak. I can’t remember the last time the rangers put out a line that young. I’m more excited with the d and all the top prospects the rangers have , way harder to draft and develop d men. No need to go shopping if they continue to develop the way they are going as of now

I like this the best but I would switch Kreider and Laf. I think Kreider should play with Kravtsov at first (veteran presence). And the speed of that trio would be so much fun to watch

Random change of topic: How (frank)ing awesome is Panarin? Easily the best forward we ever had other than Messier. He makes the game look so easy!

Oh and btw, welcome back Mika !!
