Preds are coming off an 8 game road trip. They should be gassed. So I have the Wings winning tonight and then losing on Thursday.

Nice!!! One of the betting sites has a bet $4 on the underdog and if they win you get $256. I don’t know if Wings are underdogs or not.

You’ve been on fire man. I’ve never seen a roll like this. Keep it going!

Any guesses on who scores? Just testing the waters

I put my money on the Wings tonight. Yes they're underdogs. Preds are still banged up a bit. The winning feeling is strong! My gut is telling me Mantha lights the lamp tonight. I'll say Fabbri scores again and Zadina gets one. Possible empty netter by Glenny. 👍

Nice! Thanks for making this fun, G. Been a long season, but there’s been some better moments lately

I enjoy each Red Wings win. I like what I'm seeing from this team. They're competing. They're in most games. And they're even winning a few. We lack talent but we're not lacking effort. And it's refreshing to see after what we saw for most of last season. 👍

Agree w/G on this: Wings pull a "W" tonight. Thursday is another story. But, I think the Detroit is gaining confidence and gelling as a team, despite the chaos that is a game-time line-up.

I'm not going to even remotely guess who will light the lamp. He's WAAAAY better than most on those calls.

Losing Bert is going to hurt, but at this point it opens a slot for a younger guy to show what they've got and justify their being retained on the roster. Am excited to see the 3d (Darren Helm -- Luke Glendening -- Adam Erne) & 4th line (Evgeny Svechnikov -- Michael Rasmussen -- Bobby Ryan) look like. Those lines have been pretty standard so they've formed a cohesiveness....and we seem to be getting the bulk of our scoring lately from those lower lines despite who's on them. That's good because as those guys gain experience they move up, and as those line positions vacate, the younger guys come up and slot into them....so it opens up slots for guys like Veleno, et. al. when the time comes. Reckon what I'm trying to say (been on MS Teams calls and reviewing document all day - my mind is toasted) is there is hope, and it's bubbling up from the lower lines. And it is good.

Listen, everyone one of us have said the same thing since Day 1: We know we're not Cup contenders, but we want to see improvement. And we're seeing it now. If we could get some solid support for Greiss, that'd be really nice (I got rhymes.....). He's a MUCH better G than what his record shows. And really, he's done a decent job of keeping us in games, our guys just kinda die on the vine alter in his games and we end up losing. He's good. He needs to get some ice time & run support. I think he's going to show up and will be much better down the stretch.

So, good things? Check. Promise? Check. Bumps & bruises? Check.

Wings by 2 tonight.

Totally agree on Greiss. He's much better than what his stats say. He deserves some goal support. I think he'll get it tonight. A 4-2 Red Wings win is burning in my head like the Dirk Diggler sign in Boogie Nights. 👍

The Grand Rapids Griffins have signed Albin Grewe to an amateur tryout.

Grewe, who turned 20 Monday, was the Detroit Red Wings’ fifth pick in the 2019 National Hockey League Draft. The Red Wings selected Grewe in the third round with the 66th overall selection.

Boring hockey is back , why is djoos not playing seems to me he provided some offence and was reliable defensively . We had a good stretch some fun games to watch but old habits look like they are coming back which can be blamed again on bad coaching. This team is outworked on most nights which cannot happen. A good coach will get more out of a team with less talent with a solid work ethic. This is something I have not seen consistently in a long time. Hate to say it but again comes down to coaching

Anyone catch the hot mic with Peel? Apparently wanting to call a penalty on Nashville intentionally.

In other news, NHL changed the Lottery yesterday with more changes coming in 2022.

Remember when Dunkin Dan O'Halloran would screw the Red Wings each time he worked their games? Why? Because he was once shot in Detroit. He even admitted it.

Peel was about to retire anyway. At 54 he is literally the oldest on-ice official in the NHL. And every single referee in the league does "game management." He just got caught saying it out loud.

IMO the league is taking the opportunity to look tough without actually doing anything of consequence.

"Game management" and "make-up calls" have been an open secret for forever, backed by direct statements, data, and just plain common sense. If the NHL actually cared about the integrity of the rulebook, they'd make a statement saying they're working with all their referees to address the systemic issues with the way the games are called, rather than just conveniently throwing one guy under the bus.

Executive vice president of hockey operations Colin Campbell released a statement:
"Nothing is more important than ensuring the integrity of our game. Tim Peel’s conduct is in direct contradiction to the adherence to that cornerstone principle that we demand of our officials and that our fans, players, coaches and all those associated with our game expect and deserve. There is no justification for his comments, no matter the context or his intention, and the National Hockey League will take any and all steps necessary to protect the integrity our game."

I was looking for the "Stop trying to placate me" emoji, but there isn't one (actually, was looking for the "don't jerk me off" emjoi, but similar issues exist).

Dan McCourt had a great line waaaaay back in the day about how he felt "others" impacted games by allowing their bias to creep into game-calling. Can't find it, but my Uncle in Traverse City and I were just texting about it and re mentioned it as well. Worst kept secret in Hockey.....or any other sport.

There was an umpire in MLB (again, a while back) who admitted to calling games while "under the influence". This is nothing new.

If the NHL wanted to have meaningful impact, more than FIRING this clown would be done. Just like the Richarded-up draft lottery, something was done to placate the fans. Some referee did some things...……..

Colin Campbell should be fired, same with Tim Murphy. They are blaming the little guy on the ground, and not management...
