And District 9 starts the season complaining about no equipment.
Wouldn’t they save money playing with the lights on, instead of employing people to operate spotlights? - Atomic Wedgie

That's actually funny because it's easy to see that you confuse reality with the hunger games. |

Aren't all manufacturers aiming to be strictly electric by 2030 or something? I know Honda is striving to not have any natural aspirated vehicles for sale by then, which would mean Acura as well. Toyota has been in the electric game a while, obviously as has Lexus. It's only a matter of time before all are electric outside of commercial vehicles imo - Codes1087
Diversification from the auto manufacturers is coming no matter what. Serious question from the 'climate experts' in here lol if the UN is unwilling to do anything about China, India and Russia which according to the 'experts' are the biggest polluters in the world, what impact (if any) will full electric cars do in the short term or even the long term for that matter? Asking for a friend... |

SlightlyOffside]It’s been interesting to see the Tesla & Taycan crowd take on the muscle & exotic (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc) crowd in quarter mile racing. So much torque in four wheel electrics, the starts are amazing!
(I still want an Audi R8 v10, though)
Drove my buddies Tesla last summer in K Town, was seriously surprised at the torque and power. Silent but deadly! |

lol before Stephen Hawking passed away he predicted there would be Alien contact within 75-125 years and it would not be the friendly version...if memory serves...he wasn't wrong about much (if anything lol)....
You do know who Stephen Hawking is correct? |

They aren't the biggest polluters per capita, but that involves math.
I guess giving them electric cars is a start? I mean having a billion less emitting vehicles on the road can't be a bad thing is it?
My friend also has a question. How long will it take for Alberta to realize that diversification in industry is required? |

Re - Tesla
Visiting my buddy on Port Coquitlam last summer we had the Audi vs the high horsepower Challenger and the Tesla. The Tesla and the Audi took off like rockets with he traction control but after a bit the the horses took over in the Challenger. Great fun though that Challenger was something like 1000HP |

Well that is the most outlandish of his predictions.
I guess in your case though it's not true, it would be climate change. |

lol I actually agree that a start is good. Even many Albertans are on board with this from my perspective. I would totally invest in an electric or hybrid if it makes sense. But not do it because it's trendy or whatever. Has to be right.
All my buddies in oil and gas Know diversification is coming. And I agree it's time for Alberta to start thinking outside the box a bit and get current. It will happen but a slower process here. The Oil and Gas industry will never be what it once was that's for sure at this point. |

One of the reasons it's slower is because Kenney was elected. One of the first things he cut was the diversification program. I know it was trendy for awhile to blame Notley for all things bad in AB but that's proving to be false.......based on what has happened before and since. |

It may be outlandish but not hard to comprehend if you look at it with a bit of an open mind.
And I actually do believe in climate change just not in the way it's based off profiteering and taxation without representation and how it's pushed in the brainwashed media. |

https://www.ucsusa.org/re...ntrys-share-co2-emissions. Worst polluting countries are:
1. China
2. US
3. Russia
4. India
amazing how dividing anything by 1,500,000,000 makes it seem smaller.
Seriously, they have a really bad addiction to coal power plants in China and their treatment of water resources is even worse. |

Can't see Kenney getting re-elected at this point. Yes he did get a bit unlucky with Covid and pipelines being cancelled and such but again he doesn't think outside the box or beyond that. Kenney just tried to follow the Ralph Klein binder of cut cuts cuts and it's failing miserably here. When Ralph Klein did it economy was booming and times were goos and there was major over-spending by the previous govt's. There is a time and place to do those things and Kenney's advisors have their head in their asses. Notley was equally bad as her over-spending was out of control basically 96 billion in debt over here 4 years. Not an easy mess for Kenney to clean up but he went about it the wrong way completely. But now we will probably cycle back to an NDP govt and post Covid that won't be a good thing IMO but we'll see where it goes lol |

I have an open mind. I'm sure there are alien lifeforms out there.
Evolution suggest some may be ahead of us and some behind. I guess it depends on which group we make first contact with.
However, life on our planet is far more predictable than it is throughout the galaxy.
At a certain point, you don't even need climate history to see the globe is warming. Where I live the difference in 2 degrees means rain vs snow for several months a year.
The city in Canada that holds records for largest snowfalls has been reduced this year to using my snowblower 4 times total. 1 bad winter in the past 7 years, 1 average and 5 mild. |
