I have an open mind. I'm sure there are alien lifeforms out there.

Evolution suggest some may be ahead of us and some behind. I guess it depends on which group we make first contact with.

However, life on our planet is far more predictable than it is throughout the galaxy.

At a certain point, you don't even need climate history to see the globe is warming. Where I live the difference in 2 degrees means rain vs snow for several months a year.

The city in Canada that holds records for largest snowfalls has been reduced this year to using my snowblower 4 times total. 1 bad winter in the past 7 years, 1 average and 5 mild.

Not sure you have seen Kurzgesagt videos on YouTube, but they have some fantastic videos on this/Fermi Paradox/Great Barrier:

Interesting.

Really not far off from what this idiot without an advanced education is capable of seeing based on the evidence at hand.

We’ve only been sending out signals for about 60 years to aliens (first one in 1962), so the radius for another life force to get the signal and send one back is about 30 light years (not withstanding communicating in the same manner..) Not very big in this universe.

My 2019 has less than 12k on it. You'd be surprised what your 2nd hand vehicle is worth right now. I need a truck or at least an all weather vehicle or else i'd sell mine.

Yeah, dealer has been calling trying to get us to come in and buy a new car because they badly need quality pre-owned vehicles.

I literally went through this with my brother the other day. Friday and Saturday to be exact. On Friday he told me had an appointment for the next day, I said don't accept anything they'll come back with a better offer. He called me Saturday and said I did exactly what you said not to do.

I doubt we see it in my lifetime but it's possible. More likely is in my grandchildren's lifetimes.

They aren't the biggest polluters per capita, but that involves math.

I guess giving them electric cars is a start? I mean having a billion less emitting vehicles on the road can't be a bad thing is it?

My friend also has a question. How long will it take for Alberta to realize that diversification in industry is required?

As soon as they start feeding kids bitumen for school lunch.

I bought a GM minivan in about 2005 or 2006.

They started calling me in 2009 when the economy - and GM - cratered.

I swear to goodness, one offer was BOGO - buy a new minivan, and they would give me a compact for free.

Right now they just wanna make it on every sale. I know how many used vehicles go through the autoport in Halifax. Some people bought vehicles in spring last year and they're worth as much or more now.

Hey buds.
Been camping for the last several days and came back to find this shitshow.

Sucks.

So is the season effectively done?

Hope you're all keeping well.

I'd like to take this moment to gloat about my preseason prediction for the Cdn Division:

Toronto
Edmonton
Montreal
Winnipeg.

Ok, i had Vancouver in 4th, but that was a homer call that i didn't actually think would happen....

No, there will still be games for you to watch, it’s just going to take a couple weeks. A bunch of US teams went through it early on, Canucks will recover. Schedule is going to be hell though.

Haven’t watched this in years, but all the hate in here lately, and the sheer amount of stupidity is kinda getting me in the mood...

I recall some teams having a couple dudes out and a couple games cancelled, but this seems next level.

Way off! I heard it on good authority just a few weeks ago the Canucks were a top 10 team in the league.
