I imagine its because the severity of this outbreak compared to the others. Canucks covid list will continue to grow, and already I believe it's worse than the devils/stars outbreaks earlier in the year

If they do, it’ll just require a lot of back to backs with a day of travel in between. Put that with their AHL line up and guys trickling back from COVID, they’re going to give Buffalo a run for their money on that losing streak.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that most Americans have or will be vaccinated by the end of the season. That include hockey players. In Canada, the players will be luck to get a first dose by the end of the finals.

With AHL call ups, they can have split squad games on the same day.
