They would probably ruin the tank. A highly motivated bunch auditioning for jobs with nothing to lose could be dangerous, especially if a goalie gets hot. |

But the previous ones occurred earlier, so they were able to rejigger the schedule.
To use a phrase you will see a lot in the next few weeks, the NHL has run out of runway. - Atomic Wedgie
If what you’re saying is that they have already made up games that were missed I was unaware of that. I was just shocked that a couple weeks back when the habs had something like 3 games nixed that the media was saying that the playoff start date was in jeopardy then when we have been perfect up until that point. |

We will not know the long term effects of P1 for some time. All indications are that it is the worst of the known variants to date.
Sad for Canucks. Let's hope it doesn't get Luc Bourdon tragic. |

I know it’s not a popular opinion but I think it’s awful canucks weren’t given priority for the vaccine. A lot of people are suffering and professional sports is an outlet. I know people in their 30’s that are so scared of the virus that they won’t leave their house. Drinking excessively, depressed etc. Sports provides at least some semblance of normalcy and gives people some hope. The players sacrifice a lot to continue to participate and now have ended up w a room full of COVID. Hope the players all make a speedy recovery |

I’m also a bit surprised that the NHL didn’t flex their financial muscle to purchase enough for all team staff and players for all teams. |

Apparently Vegas and Tampa are fully vaccinated. That’s a competitive advantage. I wish Canadian teams were given priority |

They should have taken a two week break to bring everyone to the US for vaccinations, Canadian teams could have come back and quarantined and resumed games.
My sister and her husband live in Vegas, 40’s healthy, no issues, both got vaccine last week. |

For being arrogant ignorant you get a repeated dose of reality.
Canucks seem to have the P1 Covid variant from Brazil cause BC now the hot spot for it.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...rried-outbreak-worsening/
“This variant is not only more transmissible to people, but has also been shown in some parts of the world to be less amenable to the vaccine,” said Henry at the press conference today.
But hey P1 is just another Flu they are dying from in Brazil... I guess you'd say. Maybe Carol will have the Forbes scoop in the next blog.

You’d think that for the good of the game the NHL would have just thrown money at a company and got a few hundred vaccines for the players and staff. Don’t go through a government, but procure the vaccines.
I’m 33, fully healthy, and get my vaccine Tuesday here in Brooklyn. |

There’s product available. Trump turned down 200million Pfizer doses, I’m sure if they tried hard enough the NHL could have managed it. Maybe it’s a perception thing?
I guess NFL was already done before vaccines were approved, have NBA players all been immunized? |

The vaccines are less amenable to P1. Whistler P1 cluster may be source of Canuck outbreak while they were off.
Believe it was reported that Hawryluck had Covid before on Sens and now has P1 variant that hit Canucks.
They were talking about giving Astrazenaca to people under 55 in Canada and now Europe is halting it as its showing blood clotting in people under 65.
There is no surety here and a lot of unknowns. |
