This was a great game for the Sens. I haven't been able to watch a lot of Sens games lately, but I was glad to watch this game! On CBC too, so that was nice, no weird blackout nonsense and having to find a stream from some sketchy site.
I've been quietly critical of Chabot, but you nailed it in your write-up. Him playing 20-25 minutes is perfect. Outside of one really awful pass directly to the Canadiens (similar to his OT pass to Matthews - but no goal this time), he was almost perfect this game. That was great to see.
I agree that they need Brannstrom to play. If he's not playing in NHL, they should send him down to AHL so he can get valuable playing time.
I actually like Gudbranson. This game was a beautiful example of what he brings to the game. There was one play where Stutzle was trying to dump the puck in and then speed into the corner to get the puck. The Canadiens defenseman just stood him up and flung him around like a child, and the puck went back into Ottawa's end. Gudbranson proceeded to manhandle one of the Canadiens forwards into the boards pretty hard. No goal, no dirtiness, and no major scuffle afterward; Just a message to the Canadiens if they do that again, one of their forwards is going to not feel good at the next opportunity. Outside of the scuffles near the end of the game, there were no weird hits after that. I love that about him. Josh Brown and Coburn are supposed to be like that... but I swear they usually just watch the game instead of using their bodies. But I will say, Coburn looked great tonight.
I just saw that Sokolov got a hattrick against the Marlies tonight! Nice! |

Brannstrom needs games for development, regardless if its in the AHL or NHL, calling him up only to have him sit makes no sense!!!!!!! |

Had to listen to radio broadcast of game. We are in the bush with not very good reception. So, just saw video on Weber/Tkachuk dust up. Kid is a total warrior, the type of leader others will willingly follow into battle.
Kid is a great team player. |

I wonder if Dorion has any say on who sits, because this continually not playing Brannstrom progressively makes the Stone trade look worse with each game it happens. That trade fully sucked when it happened, but it's starting to look like EB will be a 6D here, or put up his numbers in another jersey. If that's the case, don't sit on him - trade him while somebody thinks he might be worth something. Otherwise he might as well be Cody Ceci. Except Ceci got to play. |

I don't see much chance they trade Brannstrom after everything that went down with the Stone trade. |

What rationale is there to just sit the guy? Isn't that on dorion? He should see the coach isn't playing him so move him down. |

I have to say, I'm extremely impressed that Brady took on Weber.... Especially because he did quite well. Weber is big and strong and could have done some serious damage but Brady I feel got the better of him in that one.
I know he's strong now but in a few years when Brady develops that "Man Strength" he's going to be a Monster.
100% could be Captain material |

Does anyone know when JBD and Pinto are eligible to play? I know they have to quarantine for seven days upon arriving in Canada, but I don't know when that was or if it has even happened yet. |
